  1. I was thinking about the most recent campaign, and as a SB noob, I think it was eye-opening for me in terms of showing how powerful the M113 and the Dragon can be. My opinion about both was shaped by the old Microprose M1 Tank Platoon (my second tank sim), where both were close to useless. In our campaign games, the M113 was a worthy adversary and a major threat. Same goes for the Dragon in the constrained terrain of some of those missions. If that was part of the purpose of choosing that time period for the campaign, mission accomplished.
  2. Great game. By the end of the game, Iranistan's main objective had that "We had to destroy the village to save it" look.
  3. Battle of Khorramshahr? 😁 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Khorramshahr
  4. Yes, I mean, we have Red Dawn and many others to intersperse there. Though maybe I'll take it a bit easy going forward with the clips. Looking forward to our next TGIF, this has been really great and I have really enjoyed playing together as a team. I'm hoping we can do another campaign in a month, or when the other participants are ready?
  5. If I get a vote, I would say we should punt until next week and do a filler one until we can get all hands present for the stunning conclusion of the series, and do another scenario tonight.
  6. Slightly off-topic, Rocky IV was probably the second-best of all of the Rocky movies (I is best, III is third-best, the rest are terrible) but one of the best of the "every eighties element" in one film. -Slathered-on Anti-Soviet Jingoism mixed with 'Murica patriotism (and rightfully so) -Multiple montages ("You need a montage" -- right Team America?) with great songs. One was written by the same guy who did "You're the Best" from Karate Kid, so... a masterpiece. -Annoying little kid saying bratty "cute" stuff -Annoying robot... saying bratty "cute" stuff -Stallone. And Pauly! -Happy ending and ending credits into the same awesome montage song -James Brown -Steroid use X3 Honestly, one of my favorite 1980s timepiece movies and a big pick-me-up movie. And also, to this thread's topic:
  7. That was a heck of a game, Blue really gave us a run for our money and it sounds like it could have easily gone to them. Lots of hard work from everybody in that game, there's a lot to go over in the AAR.
  8. What's the Soviet version of the Carl Gustav in our campaign, the one the Special Weapons squad has?
  9. I'll have to go back to the AAR, but it was there where I saw LAW called out for some of the Soviet anti-tank action, so that aligns with what you confirmed just now.
  10. Question -- I notice the Soviet side (ours) is sometimes shown firing LAWs. Is that a stand-in for another weapon, or would those be either a Soviet copy or something they would have captured caches of in the course of a land war?
  11. Following up my last, I really liked your tutorial. Any plans for a single player mission?
  12. Great game last night (in part because we won ) Welcome to the new players who showed up last night, and to those that returned, very happy to have you on board. Great try Blue team, I felt less victorious after seeing how little forces you had compared to the ocean of Soviet vehicles that crashed on your shore.
  13. I think one hour earlier, I was an hour earlier for our meeting today. So whatever time the other countries were using, if they didn't change clock times this weekend, they need to come an hour earlier. (Prepares to wait an hour on Friday anyways because not everyone will see this 😄)
  14. Given the time change here in the States, are we going by the U.S. time now, or on the European time? In other words, what's the start time in PST or EST?
  15. After these last 4 missions (so the last 2 Fridays), I have a whole new respect for the Dragon ATGMs. They have really put a beating on us. Also, Pancho, come back! We need you....
  16. Version 1.02

Totally revised version of the Artillery Attitude Charts to replace the previous one. This one revises the explanation and core concept to demonstrate on a compass what attitude in mils should be set depending on whether the desired artillery zone is wider than long, or vice versa, and how that corresponds with the axis of adjustment. The emphasis is on a point in the center of the bombardment zone and how it aligns vs. 0 to 3200 mils, with 0 always oriented to the North. It also includes 2 examples. Feedback/Improvement suggestions are welcome.
