Excellent confidence building scenario for a relative noob with the added immersion from integration with other units. Good opportunity to practise the learning objectives listed in the briefing, and to hopefully retain them for future more challenging situations. I wasnt quite sure how to deal with surrendering troops so took the opportunity to develop my 'over the sight' ranging skills with the Commanders .50 cal - not very sporting but my fault for not knowing a game dynamic. Thanks. -
Relative newb having my first few goes at the user made scenarios. Really enjoyed this and found the challenge to be right in the sweetspot for me. I have mainly just been using the range and making my own mini missions so i knew how to move the units, use ATGM and resupply/ use medics etc (watched a lot of the forum training videos)0. This scenario gave me enough time to develop those skills without punishing me too brutally for my tactical naivety. Completed the mission and have now downloaded the entire Ben and Apocalypse collections. Thanks very much for the all the effort put into these :). -

Hi everyone. Thought I would use this thread since I used it 18 months ago and I’m still a noob (long haul airline pilot who never found the time but now retired🙂). I’ve just signed up for another 12 month time license and have been brushing up on the wiki etc before diving in. Now I haven’t looked at topo’s that much since Air Force pilot days about 30 years ago but I seem to be having a bit of a ‘moment’... Looking at this topo on the left I just can’t see how water flows out of the Y junction in the stream at the center of the image. From there it Looks uphill in all directions to me. Please end my confusion (might be confusing stream lines with contours since there is no colour). I’m assuming (dangerous) that the pic’s show the same terrain from the same direction? Thanks

Thanks for replying Ssnake. I do have a second router on my home network which is a dedicated VPN router - I didn’t know it was possible to do what you described! Need to do a bit of digging.

Interesting insight, thanks Ssnake. Just one more quick thought. I travel a lot for work and would like to be able to use SB when away from home. Is the dongle transferable between desktop and a laptop?

Thanks Ssnake - good news :). I hear what you say about different problems and it’s to be expected to some degree. The forums here have nowhere near the amount of negative comments as the ED one does so that’s good enough for me!

Hey Guys. New here too and inclined to jump straight in for the $125 full fat option. Only thing is I got stung when I bought P3d back in the day when they upgraded about a month later and I had to buy the update.... is the next SB due out any time soon cos I’ve seen a few 4.2 vids on YouTube...? Also I’m into DCS which is frustrating due to the constant breaking and fixing of modules and base game. Does that occur in SB or is it stable? Thanks for your thoughts
