"Fritz's Video Channel"?
Going through older videos of mine and came across this gem. One of my Abrams takes 11 hits under battlesight range before giving it up to Robert E. Lee.
I was still learning tactics and operations so be prepared to see me do stupid stuff too.0 -

That's how our squad medics work. They may not have the best chances to restore a casualty back into fighting condition, but even the worst ones have at least a single digit percentage chance and the best ones will revive 50% of all casualties, without the arrival of specialized medevac teams.
So, in itself your observation does not necessarily show a bug. It's more likely that it is a feature, even if it isn't as well-known as maybe it should.
Oh, COOL! I'd read about it but didnt recognize it when it happened!
Thanks.1 -
During track repair in game, there should be audible grunting and swearing from whoever's working on it.
Should be authentic grunts and swears from the field.3 -
They were sprayed with machine gun fire over and over, and finally the BMP main gun rounds. This went on for a while. I'm re-watching the video now to try n see what's what.
...OK. The one guy. not sure which team, is shot dead (crumpled body) at one point, and the other team catches up with him, goes prone around him, then they get back up. At this point the dead soldier comes back to life... another soldier from the other team takes a few hits and doesn't go down, keeps running...
At this point both surviving members of one team are taking machine gun fire and keep running.
BWAHAHAHA one of the zombie soldiers AT-4s a T-72 right as its about to crunch the last surviving member of the other team.
Oops. Nevermind that guy's dead. Got crunchied. Now one guy in the other team took one AK-47 spray and is dead, and the team lead is taking much sprayo de leado...
And now.... oh, I'll just post the video.

Hmmmm.
I suspect "a glitch in the matrix"; if the soldier was already considered "dead" by some previous event but somehow he didn't receive the memo (a state machine update) so you could still control him though hotkeys etc., then he "couldn't get any deader" on subsequent checks (IOW, no change of status).
If this could be reproduced, it would be a different matter.
They followed waypoints too. I'll see if I can do it again in the mission. It was hilarious when the T-72 drove right up to them and machine gunned them crawling around, that big gun tube following him across the ground 15 feet away ....

Oh no it's Fritz with another pesky annoying post....
So my Bradley got smote. A T-72 started shooting at me on a bridge and my driver backed us up over the edge into the river. I don't have a problem with that- that's realism. That's really happened numerous times.
My infantry dismounted and swam to shore. Six brave men trapped behind enemy lines. Surrounded on all sides.Would they make it out alive?
COULD THEY?
My six man squad slowly dwindled. 5... 4... 3 was run over by a cold-blooded T-72...
An hour later I joined the lone survivor of the missile team (who had dispatched 2 BMP-2s by himself) and the rifle team leader (who had gunned down a platoon of evil communist troopers by himself. 'MURICAAAA!) into one team (which was cool. Two units now showing as one on the map).
And I began running these guys around manually.
Now, I did discover something peculiar at this point: The last survivors of their respective teams.... were invincible. Is this a feature (one lone survivor to tell the tale of horror to strike fear into the hearts of the force) or a bug? (I am still on ver. 4.265)1 -

I'm always thinking of ways to take small forces and outsmart/outmaneuver/outdie a numerically superior force in urban environments.
So I whipped up a heavily occupied German town scenario where a single M2 Bradley was left behind enemy lines. And of course, I would include the AAR to show the suspense and intrigue of the scenario as it unfolded to the loud whir of diesel engine and the staccato pumping of the Bradley's 25mm chain gun.
The stop/start/prowl/jump scare possibilities got my heart pounding before I even clicked "Start".
But then I just did this:0 -
I could post a video of me scrolling through it if you like? It's pretty funny and cool.

This one got somewhat famous when it was first released, but you can't see the BTR.
This one fits the description more closely, but doesn't take place in a city/suburb.
That first one is so close but that's not it. I'm looking for it too.
The one I'm remembering was like that, but a little closer/zoomed in. It showed only one tank toward the top of the screen, like that one, and the IFV, bottom of screen, filmed from a drone, pull rightward onto the road the tank is on, and starts pounding its rear grill with 30 or 40mm rounds. The engine lights up and the tank starts burning.0 -

That was an Asov Btr 4 in Mariupol, iirc.
Thanks for the link- meets my description exactly but not the clip I'm looking for.
The one I'm thinking of was from outside, a drone looking down. The tank is a block or two in the background looking away as the IFV, below/closer to the drone, pulls right from behind a building and hammers the tank in the exhaust until it flames out.0 -

Does anyone remember that footage from about a year ago of some (Russian/Ukrainian) IFV rolling up behind some (Ukrainian/Russian) T-72 variant and hammering its engine vents with its 30-40 mm until it caught fire? It was drone footage (IIRC) with IFV at screen bottom and tank up above...?

Depends how badly "destroyed".
One that's lost its turret and is burning fiercely can't be (IIRC), whereas one that still destroyed but not burning can be.
Cool. "Knocked out" enemy tanks then.
I'll experiment on turret poppers next battle.

This entertaining and informative thread popped up in a tankers group on Facebook.
Let me know if it doesn't come up...?0 -
More a question, kinda related, might be a RTFM thing, but I've recently noticed that if you're not using GPS/IR sight when you shoot a track there's a white >poof< that marks the target as dead. Is that new or a difficulty option?

I've obviously thought of the crew bailout thing too, but then remembered this is a crew trainer first, and this is one of the last things I would ask for.

This short.... Bradley Bold!
Giving a T-90 crew pounding headaches.... and is that a barrel strike I see?
I saw an interview compilation where Ukrainian soldiers agreed that the M-2A2 (UK) was the most efficient armor vehicle they have, and that it's killing everything White, Blue and Red on the battlefield.

Ah! thanks for explaining. Makes much more sense.

Had a few new experiences this AAR...
When an NPC realizes it's really not going well for his side
US Army Force Multiplying: Dismounting troops, Firing TOW And taking direct fire all at once.
A SABOT petal from my M-1A1 damages a BMP-3 while I'm engaging another track near him.
A Ruski SABOT petal, firing over the shoulder of another Ruski T-80U, destroying his comrade:
My wingman wasting a SABOT on a fuel truck....
2S1 clangs a smoke round off a Bradley as he's reloading his TOWs...
I was lining my Abrams coax on an ammo truck, and the driver turned and looked at me when I started firing. It kinda shocked me.
First I gunned the engine.
Then I see the dude lookin' at me.
Put my sight on his nose.
And he's gone.
That kinda realism is ... spooky and I felt kinda shocked for a sec.
But anyway...
I've really come to decide, being a GenXer that the M-1A1 HA is my favorite tank to play. But I'll still rip out the SEP2 time to time 'cuz it has great advantages and all.
Yes, I plan to upgrade this Spring or so.
And again, Thanks to the Steel Beasts Pro PE Team for providing me all these hours of fun and learning. This is my #1 go to sim still. Thanks!1

CIV and IVIS, just like the M-1A2. I believe new engine, transmission and suspension too.
Basically, that big blank space in front of the Brad TC is now full of 2 (or 1?) screens and a slide out keyboard. Scout/Squad compartment in back also has an IVIS screen.
