  1. Ohhhhhh... the M1-IP uses the three tone and only the M1 has the solid olive drab. Is there a simple way to have the M1 IP use olive drab too? And change TC/Turret top to be solid olive drab too?
  2. Welp. I think I found it. Under "Other".
  3. I went looking for an olive drab IPM-1 skin and... didn't find any? I mean there's M1A1 skins that are olive drab but nothing for the IPM1! Looking for something like the stolen image below. Or am I missing it (include link below)?
  4. Nah. At the most extreme possible would be a non-playable Merkava for... somehting. But even then I don't think we even know how much they tricked out their M-60s and Shermans even. I think it's a beaufitul question but the universal answer is "Nah."
  5. I'll second the motion. 🙋‍♂️
  6. Read an article in Armor |Magazine about how effective Israeli M-60 105s were against Arab T-72s. Every shot was a kill shot, but the Ruski tanks didn't always blow up, and would sometimes take 7,8 to even 9 shots from different passing tank crews. This was what inspired German/US weapon designers to put small rings around the new 120mm DU round, which upon penetration of the enemy's armor, would break off the dart, super-heated and pinging around inside the tank setting anything and everything on fire. Impressed with the 105, even if it WAS just against the vanilla T-72. More impressed with the 120mm rounds tho.
  7. Fun mission using the "Drop Red Brigade about here" function in the Mission Builder. Took a company of IPM-1s, a Pltn of Bradleys and and a pltn of M-60A3s (which died instantly but went down fighting) to fend off their attack. The AT missile platoon stopped 2 platoons of M-1s and I had to mortar them to get them to stop. Only had 2 non-immobilized Abrams left end of mission. First mission I've fought only from one tank, just directing everyone else around using the map. Had to repair my tracks twice tho.
  8. <sigh> Here's the folder, with basically three maps. I mean, the Bergen map is good. Very good. Had some great battles in it already. But I have a ton (English measurement, not metric) of scenarios with the old maps. Can ya help me get that big ginormous file created last year? Now you know why they call me Fritz. Everything breaks.
  9. Aaaaand that's okay if it's long. I think I speak for everyone.
  10. Just watched a YouTube documentary on the Merkava and wondered if there was enough info to make it playable ion SBProPE... I wasn't surprised. Loose lips sink ships. I mean, as cool as Democracy is for fanbois like me, it's a lot of free intel for the enemy as well.
  11. This happens to me all the time. Every "Thunder Run"-esque mission I run. I'll get the map name (for this particular mission) today and let you know, but this happens to me in almost every town, small or big.
  12. So over in Facebook some tankers let me join and go fanboi over their profession. I ask them questions and they are kind to answer, in tanker fashion. I asked which M-2 mount the TCs preferred of the many types the Abrams has seen. I assumed the pintle mounted that requires the TC to stand up all exposed would be the least favorite of all. Boy was I wrong. Of about 20 responses, almost 1/4 preferred the swiveling mount. Why? Because, evidently, nothing says, "$@%#$% YOU!" like personally pointing the Ma-Deuce at the loser who just hit the side of your turret with an RPG and turning him into pink chunkies. And I've since then tried it in game and ... this virtual armchair Lieutenant gets it.
  13. Back in my college days, I wrote a Star Trek Battle simulator. I wrote the AI for the Klingons to seek and maneuver to the stern and/or weak shield of the player's ship to try and dispatch him faster. I was also working on a model for the AI in a tank sim project that didn't come to. I say this because I appreciate the challenges of writing AI behavior. But sometimes I just.....
  14. But that doesn't always happen. Now my missions are usually only with company size forces (occasionally btln if I have time), but tanks and IFVs do not always blow up catastrophically. Sometimes they just smoke, and about 1/4 of the time they just stop working because the crew is incapacitated but the tank is still kinda intact.
  15. 1 HEAT round at barrel's end clears buildings better than any infantry squad or IFV... did this to 3 buildings. One was a small post that I point-blank BLAMMed and all that was left when the dust cleared was no building and four dead terrorist corpses (screenie didn't take :( ). Lmao
  16. Maybe not modelling it so precisely ((I can definitely see the challenges in this), but when a tank blows up catastrophically, have a burnt out skin to put on it, or over its existing skin with alpha channels.
  17. Another wishlist item- enemy that retreats when they lose a certain percent of their force. I know this can be "programmed" into scenarios via the mission creator, but I think it should be in the basic AI code. All modern wars the enemy knows when he's beat and withdraws.
  18. Now hear me out before you judge me: I play War Thunder with my son a lot. He loves tanks and planes and it's one of our connection points. Don't spoil a father's pride... But one thing I've learned with WT is that forest shadows make very effective hiding places for the enemy, or myself. To be sitting there, looking into a tree line and not seeing anything until "Pop"-"TANNGGGGG!!!" just to the right where you were looking is very unnerving. So if we could add shadows to the trees (make it an option for the fps challenged, of course) it would be a tactical enhancer to the simulation.
