  1. I recall what you're referring to, me saying I don't recall a ballistics computer. Well I should have said "We" didn't call it a ballistics computer but a Fire-Control Computer. Yes it is a ballistic computer but we never referred to it as that.

As for the dynamic lead.......nonexistent, if it was true dynamic lead you wouldn't have to move the reticle what so ever or correct it on the move, as a gunner I know for a fact that I had to lead moving targets or targets while we were on the move. You can call it dynamic lead all day but it isn't in my opinion.

I was on an M1A1( 93-96' 1/67 C CO. 2nd AD) and thus I am not up to speed on what kind of advancements the A2 has. If you have any evidence to the contrary please do post it...

I am not trying to rival SB or any other title. I have nothing against SB, hopefully we can put the whole "SoundGate" deal aside and be friendly.

I didnt mean it as a personal attack , and we at SB forum dont mean it as a personal attack either. I realise you project is still in its infancy and ill follow it to see what it will turn out to be. I,m sure most of us welcome another tank sim and i little competition can have its benifits to.

  2. I'm wondering too!!

Where is Oscar? Hope he's allright.

I,m doing fine thank you . It does look interesting , and so does the suspension . But i dont believe it will be able to rival SBP any time soon. I the forums to do some research on the project and was totally put of by the fact that the developer claims to be a former m1a1 tanker and never heard of dynamic lead or a ballistics computer. Yet he says it will be a realistic simulater.

  3. Here in Hungary the T55-s and T72-s that were in service were all equipped with external fuel tanks. The general rule was that these had to be jettisoned from the tank and left behind prior any sort of combat situtation / engagement as they were extremly fire/explosion hazardous.

I guess that rules out MOUT operations then :)

  4. I,ve been playing online alot lately but one thing i,ve noticed is that there are never more then 10 to 12 people on teamspeak to play around with , half of them only speak spanish so most of the time i play with the guys from 3rd armour division and from time to time with Sbgenerals . I know there are events like TGIF and such that draw more people but since i,m from The Netherlands that would mean that i would have to play at 0400 in the morning . How come there are no events more oriented for the European community? Is it because the community in general is just simply to small in the first place? As it is now it just depends on the people online what will be played and since the latest upgrade i rarely ever played with more then 6 players if there are enought people in the first place . What happened to the mass online games i used to play with the generals and the german community in the good old days?

Also the lack of the abilty to enter a game in progress adds to the fact that when one does come online he must wait for the game to finish before being able to join , i think this also adds to the reluctance to stick around on TS

  5. The only "real Tank" is

    Leo.jpg

We have to post it for the next 2 Years and voila !

Wow she a beauty! But i would really love to see the canadian c2 , that is most certainly an interessting tank to fiddle around with. But on the other side we allready do still have 2 leo1 versions allready right?

  6. As far as graphics are concerned I am satisfied with what we have a moment and at least my rig can run it without any problems. Although I wouldn't mind bouncing roadwheels and some nice explosion effects either at least, but I can do without those. Honestly I wouldn't want to spend heaps of money on buying / upgrading the computer again just because I don't use it that much for gaming anymore. Steel Beasts gives me enough immersion in terms of simulation that I completely forget or dont care about the graphics. Heck to be honest I think I am one of those lonely fanboys who still play flight simulators on C64 and on Amiga 600 even in 2012 :D i mean I am still playing this baby actively, and it gives me goosebumps:

I am graphic whore as well and apart from Steel Beasts a gamer - I would recommend getting a PS3 or an Xbox 360 with a big @ss HD TV if you are looking for these type of things, it's not likely that we are ever going to see this with Steel Beasts. BF3 is akick ass GAME in my opinion, especially online, all the eyecandy and action is there.

Well yeah it was just an idea and No we will probably never see 95 % of this in steel beasts but at least i can dream. I could buy a PS3 but it doesnt have steel beasts or simulations worth mentioning.

  7. I have composed of an eye candy wishlist that would put sbp on par with current day grafics engines.

    * Weather effecs including rain , storm , and snow effects

    * Tracer effecs including ricochet sparks from gunfire and shell impacs on armor and better tracer models and soforth

    * Dirt and mud comming of the tank tracs when driving

    * Bouncing roadwheels

    * tank leaving tracks in the ground (mud , sand , snow) It kind of looks weird when the tank sinks in the snow without desturbing the snow for example

    * 3-d crew both inside and outside of the tank with loading and other animations

    * Kickback from gun breech when firing

    * treech and bushes sway by wind effect

    * better visiual damage effect ( blown of roadwheels and shot of tracks)

    * Better models for destoyed tanks

    * Better smoke and fire effects when tank is destoyed

    * destructable building models like arma 2

    * Better looking water effecs when interacting with vehilces (it looks wierd as it is now because the water looks like the snow with no interaction with vehilces whatsoever

  8. SB Pro PE graphic is are outdated, boring, me need Flight Simulator X graphic.

Grafics like that would require a complete new engine for SBP. And yes graficly SBP is indeed really starting to show its age now. But lets not forget that its the only moderen tank warfare software out there these days. And even if there would be a new tanksim that would feature western armour then i hardly doubt it will feature as much playable vehicles as SBO does.

  9. Cool they have the correct Swissflag ! :-)

    Ok wishlist....

I see no need for more tanks...pc's ....

    -Mostly eyecandy :-)

-Driver, Commander, Loader, Gunner visible from outside (Jeep and Truck drivers)

    -Tracers, FX-effects explosions rework

-Bouncing bounce wheel's that bounce over the bouncing terrain :-)

-....well ok a M1A2 would be nice.....

    McDan out

I agree , i think eyecandy should be given the priority for a change in the new update . Because if it just keeps being kep low in proirity then SBP has the risk of becoming simply outdated . Esspecially when a product will ever hit the market then will simulate modern tank warfare as well.

  10. Ooohh so we will see tank crew...at some point....oh and maybe "bouncing" wheels....oh oh and nice tracer and fx effects......oh ooh ooohhh....ok I stop now :-))) JK

    McDan out

PS: can't wait to get home and ride the beast some more.... ;-)

You do realize that when mentioning anything eye candy that you are at risk of infuriating the community and triggering a massive eye candy witch hunt do ya? Just saying..
