  1. Given that the XBOX analog sticks would be of limited use for anything requiring precise control, LegionnaireDan can use it as additional keyboard. There are 3rd party tools for mapping keyboard and mouse actions to joysticks. (I can recommend XPADDER has an inexpensive and capable utility for this.) The one thing at LegionnaireDan will have to contend with is how to secure the XBOX controller so he can use it one-handed. I adapted a gamepad to mount to my desk to allow this.
  2. I use a joystick for ergonomics. Joysticks like the Warthogs have multiple buttons that can be accessed with the right-hand while still performing aiming. (This is why I think using and actual gunner's control is not practical unless you also have all of the other switch/control panels available to a real tanker.) Unfortunately, 36 years of using bad computer input devices makes me avoid using a keyboard whenever possible.
  3. SSnake, You should try the spring mod for the Warthog show in this video: It costs nothing and doesn't damage any parts. (You can also "customize" the tension with some small washers if desired?)
  4. CapnBlood, I'm glad that you were able to resolve the freezing issue when running full screen. For the record, what was causing my issue was not the Realtek Audio driver, it was an Asus "utility" that was installed with the driver. It was an in-game overlay: "Sonic Radar". Users experiencing the same problem should examine their installed programs and utility for similar applications. BTW, when you uninstalled the Dell Realtek drivers, Windows just installed its default version, (minus the crapware the Dell install included.) If Dell doesn't support a custom install for the audio drivers only, you could go to the Realtek driver site and download the current versions.
  5. Do anyone know if the GPS thermal sights on 1980's M1IP and M60A3 TTS had aiming reticles or only zoom field brackets for the low magnification view?
  6. Ssnake, Thank you for your response. That was what I was requesting.
  7. Thanks, I found that too. Unfortunately, they don't mention when that were actually being used in the field. I'm looking for when the tank units in that region when actively using them?
  8. There are numerous references that list the manufacturing date for the A4 variant of the Leopard 2 as 1985. Does anyone know the actual date that the A4 variant was fielded, (specifically in the Fulda Gap region?) If you have personal knowledge, please state that. If you have a reference, please include a link to it?
  9. Back when I purchased my Warthog, the Target customization application was too dangerous to use, (ex., Blue Screen errors.) Based on a recommendation by a user on this forum, (Superbus), I switched to the XPADDER application: https://xpadder.com/?lang=english&country=US It works quite well. Here is the control mapping for the joystick: Of interest is the mapping of the Trim control, (large coolie hat), for the driver. When the DMS control, (black castle hat switch) is used to select the Map/TC/Gunner position, the Trim control is set to F1, F2, F3, F4. When the driver’s position is selected, the Trim hats switches to mouse movements. This is accomplished using the XPADDER Set mode. The selecting the driver’s position activates Set #2. Any other position reset the coolie hat to Set #1. Hopefully, you can use this feature to allow you to remap the controller for your application. warthog.zip
  10. If the external device supports multiple overlays and is used to change positions, you can switch key maps to support the new context?
  11. I'm not questioning the accuracy of the FEA software, just whether it's likely that person configuring the simulation would be able to input the correct material properties to product meaningful solutions? I probably should have stated using highly-sloped armor for the purpose of deflecting modern long-rod penetrators is questionable. The penetrators don't defect significantly. The original Leopard 2 and Abrams being examples of armor designed after their introduction. (The new front wedges and the Abrams hull above the driver are examples of highly sloped armor, but they defeat projectiles in different ways.)
  12. There are several content providers on Youtube posting terminal ballistic simulation videos, ex., SY Simulations, XDYN, Extreme Engineering Simulation, Dejmian XYZ. The results of the modern APFSDS impacts on armor seem reasonable and certain illustrates why slopped armor is no longer useful. Can anyone who actually knows this subject comment on the general accuracy or identify ones that are mostly correct, (without revealing privileged information?)
  13. I booted to a different Windows 10 image on my computer that I use to troubleshoot things like this. It did have some ASUS sound drivers and utilities installed, but I was to install and open SBPE 4.265. I could get to the menu, but the invisible mouse cursor bug stopped me from getting in the game itself. (If you can't fix the graphics, can we at least get keyboard navigation?) I'll wait for the next update to see if it fixes that COM issue and maybe the cursor bug.
  14. Not that I'm aware of. I never installed it as a program. I see from searching online that it may be install automatically by Microsoft or third-party apps. Tomorrow I'll see if I can find a relevant document from removing/disabling it.
