  1. ...which isn't really surprising. 40,000 additional imposters with eight bit transparency in textures - well, it's got to have a price.
  2. I'm currently working on setting up a new notebook with Santa Rosa chipset. So far the impressions both under Vista and XP are quite favorable (32 bit versions each). As a graphics card I added the GeForce 8600M GT to the list on the first page since it seems to be a rather popular choice among notebook manufacturers at the moment.
  3. Well, a creative solution I have to admit.
  4. Ouch. Well, you should try to go back to 24 bit after subsequent driver updates. No current graphics card should require a restriction to 16 bit depth resolution.
  5. Should you be using a 64 bit Vista version, you need the 64 bit CodeMeter runtime software. Download it directly from www.CodeMeter.com
  6. I hope it'll work out. Good luck!
  7. Well, I'd expect it in at least the 6600GT range which should yield totally adequate results in all resolutions without or with minimal FSAA, and still very good results with FSAA enabled in XGA resolutions (see post #1 of this thread).
  8. No, DirectPlay is not related to the graphics driver as far as I can see. It's a network issue.
  9. I'm definitely not going to lend my hand for such a haphazard patching.
  10. I think it's obvious what the problem is, it's just that we don't know the cure. Well, it's a start. Since I have never heard of or experienced such a situation it seems that the easiest strategy is to reinstall Windows from scratch. That alone is a major pain, thinking of all the other installations that need to get installed as well, and because of it I never give this advice lightly. But even Google doesn't show more than a handful of links when searching for "DPLAY error", none of which I found particularly enlightening.
  11. Yes. It sounds like some local configuration issue, maybe hardware or driver induced.
  12. The CodeMeter is a USB stick which will verify that you are running a legitimate copy of our software. In fact, the stick contains a cryptographic device which will decrypt the executable of our software. The benefit of this method is that we can allow you to make backup copies of the installation CD, and to install it on more than one computer. You just need to take the USB stick with you and plug it into the one computer that you are currently using. The downside is, if the USB stick gets stolen, gone is your software license with it until the stick can be detected somewhere. We recommend registering your stick at the CodeMeter.com website so that you can have it remotely disabled if the stick disappears. This will make it easier for eSim Games to provide you with a new stick and license for a mere token fee (plus shipping & handling), and not charge you for a full new license. In addition, you can buy additional LAN licenses at a much reduced price (80% discount on the normal price).
  13. What you wrote. There's no reason to expect anything but good performance.
  14. ...are you sure you never changed it? You may want to register your stick to get the master password. Hopefully you don't have to use the current password for it.
  15. Ask and ye shall be given, heh...
  16. I've neverseen pictures of the Ural fuel truck version. I simply don't know how it looks like. The idea was to use the MAN fueler once that it'd be integrated.
  17. If the stick failed during a firmware upgrade we wouldn't charge you for a replacement stick. Still, you'd need to send it in. I don't know why Wibu Systems chose to pick this method, but it's their decision not ours to keep the firmware files on their servers.
  18. DAMN 8-O > almost 8000 posts now
  19. No. I still recommend a firmware upgrade because it will eliminate a not too rare problem that can lead to unrecoverable malfunction. In that case we would need to replace the device which not only incurs costs but also results in downtime and hassle for you.
  20. Just because the stick is of version 1.08 it doesn't mean that you're doomed; you can use it the way it is. Ignore it for the moment. Maybe there is some server problem. If the error message persists it could be that your Vista security settings do not allow the data transfer. In this case please contact Support (at) CodeMeter.com for advice.
