  1. What makes me angry (a little ) is that fine Falcon BMS label is used here in such a confrontational and even disparaging way. To what purpose and to what avail? KITT, surely you must realize, that by doing this dribble and infantile rant of yours, you are being simply annoying, and doing F4 BMS Community NO good service at all. So instead , how about trying to do something constructive, or even minimally productive to either SBProPE or Falcon4 BMS? I bet, THAT is completely foreign idea and concept to you my dear fellow. KITT, time to quit!
  2. Thank you. Very, very nice. It is slow process and takes lots of time to make it look real, but it does look very good. And this is perhaps one way graphic improvement many users are anxious to see, making improving maps. It does not require any new 3d models, shaders or textures, but quite a lot of time and work. Not that i do not want better and newer models, shaders, textures or effects here, but after I tried this map upgrading on the much smaller scale I saw/experienced the difference in the gameplay right away.
  3. Really 1st class job. Well done, and the town has been recreated with nearly photographic accuracy, which shows on the last shot . I would like to see it in summer colors.
  4. Thank you for reply. Again I must stress on the way you handle the towns and villages. They are well done. I do not know how things are being created in SB Pro, but I hear that there is no even way to import of the background map or satellite photo and based on that make the positioning of the models on the map. So I assume that the only way is to print something and methodically place building by building by hand. This is very laborious procedure indeed. I would like to share some article on from the net how the farmhouses should be placed and grouped in regards to other buildings on the farm. Here: http://fuzzycookie.hubpages.com/hub/Grouping-and-Layout-of-Farm-buildings-in-Countryside I think some read and following examples may make farms even more realistic. However, nothing btter than just placing good and properly scaled Google Earth sat photo in the background of the map and copy/paste models according to true to RL layouts and positioning.
  5. I went through the entire Hunfeld Map tread and must say that this project is truly very interesting and results are quite spectacular. But I also appreciate how much work and time has to be put to it. I like very much how the towns and villages are made. They look very much like RL settlements and not loosely spread buildings on the empty area. I was disappointed to hear that extra congestion of the 3d objects may cause AI units to get bogged. Please post more shots (with summer colors).
  6. DCS Combined Arms manual is now available. Here: http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.ph...5&d=1341931231 People here experienced and well familiar with features of SBProPE can now peel off some DCS hype. Even at very first glance obviously it is rather very basic script tool to make some targets move around. Still it is progress, which will be sure embraced and hailed by DCS community.
  7. Before this subject of height map goes on shelf I have a question. I find contour lines alone as being not too informative in regards to good hiding places and for route planing. Not perhaps so much in woodland, but in desert. I know that there is LOS tool but I find it not very handy to determine overall topography of the map. I was wondering if perhaps switchable layer with color coding (like in physical maps) would not be nice to have. The dream tool would be to have "best route" auto tracer. You would need to mark start and end point and the tool would determine and trace optimal "like a river flow" connection between. The other question I have: what maps and of what scale tank commanders use in regular operations and training? Are they some sort of standard like TPC or ONC issues for flight ops?
  8. Comparing DCS to SBPro, even with the prospect Combined Arms module, is little over enthusiastic, if not naive. It needs to be mentioned that DCS Matt Wagner did promptly make the clarifying statement on the subject. Lesson learned is that time flies fast and all cutting edge simulations, no matter how deep and sophisticated, need constant improvement on all fronts. The real positive news from eSim here is, that coincidentally to release of those DCS pictures or not, new programmer is on board (no more plan, but fact) to work on SBPro graphics. This is good thing and it would be very interesting to hear some tidbits about his plans and then work progress.
  9. If I remember my Russian cyrillic alphabet correctly, letters below read PULOF. Anyone knows what that means in Russian and what is the purpose of this sign there?
  10. Perhaps even somehow differentiating last reporting unit on the F5 map would give some degree of better awareness who is doing what. However, the counter argument could be: there are many reports in too short span of time and there is no time to give any input to those units anyway. Still I believe that I vaguely recall that feature being present in SB1. Maybe I am mistaken.
  11. Middle button of the mouse (MMB) enables Palm Switch (Override On indicated with red sign on the top of the screen). It works in TC and you are able to swing the gun barrel left and right. However, when you enter the game only after you click the mouse (LMB once!) and white arrow mouse cursor turns into small view cross. You cannot swing the view while the Palm Switch is on - holding MMB you only able to rotate the gun. When release MMB then you are able to follow the gun with the view (leapfrogging) ...and so on. I hope this explanation not to convoluted.
  12. Is there any provision to jump to the unit who reported radio message? Like double clicking message text.
  13. My impression is that GPSE TIS while wonderful to pick up far away hot spots is quite inadequate in feeding situation awareness info about surrounds and terrain immediately around. For that indispensable I find TC outside view to judge good spots from where to scout farther grounds. In my setup pressing middle mouse button while riding M1A1 in TC outside view enables palm switch and allows to swing gun to bearing of my choice. This is why for now , with my very limited tank experience, TC outside position in M1A1 feels to me the best and most natural. How come this is not available in other vehicles?
