    I actually indexed battlesight distance(400m for the HESH) and dumped the lead before using the laser rangefinder. I do this all the time before I use the rangefinder again.

    We can still get a reasonable value with the laser rangefinder in the commander's position when using HESH.

    In the commander's position, however, the thermal imager can normally be used to measure the distance, so there is no problem hitting stationary targets at least 3km.

    When in the commander's position, you can use HESH normally by simply aiming at the target.
