Mav
Hi All I have started the work on a 3 scenarios taken from the M-SIMNET platoon level exercises. They unfold them selfs in the area west of Fort Knox around a small city called Irvington. MatsW has been so kind to actualy make the real map of this area. Its a great Map and afaik he will be updating it along the way. For now it fills the purpose for my scenarios. You can find them here ( http://www.steelbeasts.com/Downloads/p13_sectionid/252/p13_fileid/1803 and here http://www.steelbeasts.com/Downloads/p13_sectionid/253/p13_fileid/1804 ) All exercises include one company of M1A1's divided into 3 platoons and an XO and CO. I have allso included the logistics attachment so you can repair and rearm if needed be. The first scenario is called "Conduct a Movement to Contact" and it has been uploaded to the library of Single Player scenarios. This is not realy fitting, as you can play this upto Company level. You WILL have to move each platoon, but you will not need to "bring along" the CO and XO. Scoring is based on the real M-SIMNET scorings, where you do not get scorings for kills and speed, but rather for the movement of the company, aka overwatch techniques, driving with company in wedge etc. Its all included in the summery. The briefing is held as close as possible to the original as are the placement of the enemy forces and support for both sides. Find the exercise here : http://www.steelbeasts.com/Downloads/p13_sectionid/24/p13_fileid/1807 Expect the exercise to come later in a version with all scripted movement. ps. Watch out for the artillery and keep moving your tanks!! Next exercise will be called "Conduct a Hasty Attack", so im looking forward to any feedback so i do not make the same blunders twize. Mav
I have now uploaded #2 scenario - Conduct a Hasty Attack. Again thanks to MatsW for the map!! You can find them here ( http://www.steelbeasts.com/Downloads...13_fileid/1803 and here http://www.steelbeasts.com/Downloads...13_fileid/1804 ) They are ofcourse necessary for the scenario. The Red defencive position in this scenario is a little better then in "Movement to Contact" and they have a vastly updated access to artillery. So keep them tanks moving constantly to avoid getting killed by indirect fire. Scoring is based on the real M-SIMNET scorings, where you do not get scorings for kills and shooting fast, but rather for moving the company correct and reporting when crossing lines and taking objectives or getting in contact with the enemy. It's all included in the summery. The briefing is held as close as possible to the original as are the placement of the enemy forces and support for both sides. At this point the download is up, but still not approved, so you will have to suffer for now with this link to the single player missions where it is uploaded. Mind all the scenarios in this series have the player(s) control a tank company of 14 tanks and a support section. They are not scripted in the mission, but its doable to make a simple movement plan before starting the scenario. You can find the scenario here ( http://www.steelbeasts.com/Downloads/p13_sectionid/24/p13_fileid/1808 ) Bellow a thumb and link to the overlay of blue Edited February 12, 2010 by Mav
