Unloading choppers

Hello and welcome!

Unfortunately the helicopters still require a great deal of manual control from the user in order to get them to do anything effective. For PCs, all you really need to do is press U and they will unload, but for helicopters you have to manually land them first by pressing/holding SHIFT+Z until the helicopter is all the way on the ground. Also, sometimes the helicopter will seemingly refuse the land, if it does then then just press S (stop) and then hold SHIFT+Z. Once it is on the ground, press U as normal and it will unload the troops.

Hope that helps.

Hi Volcano

You mentioned pressing "SHIFT+Z" to land the chopper. Interestingly, it does not work with my keyboard. Mine requires "CNTRL + Z" - Just a hint for anyone whois having the same problem with SHIFT+Z command.

Did some say scripted?

Yes you just go back to the good old days but change the altitude.

For example:

Designate a zone on the map (can call it LZ if you want).

Put a Inf PL in the "LZ" zone with a "spawn if" command like:

Spawn Inf section / squad if:

helo csn X arrives in "LZ"

So if the helo is lost en route the squad doesn't spawn.

If the helo makes it then the squad appears on the map.

That sort of thing.
