General

Based on the PT-76 the BTR-50 is an amphibious armored personnel carrier designed by the Soviet Union in the early 1950s that entered service in 1954. This vehicle served as the primary APC in Motor-Rifle Regiments until replaced by the BMP-1, and still serves in a number of specialist roles such as forward air control, NBC reconnaissance, and command. The modeled version is the BTR-50PK, an upgraded version fitted with an armored roof and a basic NBC filtration system. Although no longer in front line Russian service, the BTR-50 series has seen use with more than thirty countries stretching from Eastern Europe to the Middle-East, Africa, and Asia. The Chinese also field the Type 77 APC, which is comparable to the BTR-50 in appearance and performance, but is a separate, unrelated design.

The dismount section for the BTR-50PK is 14 men, equipped with 3 RPG-7L light anti-armor weapons, a PKM, and 5.45mm rifles.

Introduced with revision 3.002, as of revision 3.025 the BTR-50PK is fully crew-able (driver (F9), TC (F7), and dismount team (F11)) but only partially modeled with only basic 2D and 3D interior views. If so equipped, the commander's machine gun may be accessed using the F3 key from his station.
