General

The M113G3 is a late 1990's modification package for the M113A1/A2 by Germany's Flensburger Fahrzeugbau GmbH, and is in service with Denmark and Germany. Similar to the M113A3, the M113G3 received a more powerful 300hp 6-cylinder, 10.6 liter turbo-charged diesel-engine (MTU 6V 183 TC22 EURO II) coupled to a ZF LSG 1000 transmission (6F2R), improved suspension, improved steering and braking systems, and external fuel-tanks. Diehl 513 tracks, a new heater, and an upgraded generator, along with preparations for mounting URDAN type perforated add-on armour kits round out the modifications. Due to its increased weight, the M113G3 is no longer amphibious, and the vehicle's trim vane has been removed and replaced by a horizontal storage bin. Additionally, the M113G3 may be equipped with either the Lemur or Kongsberg Protector .50 cal remote weapon stations replacing the commander's 0.50 cal.

This vehicle is fully modeled and crew-able at the Commander's (F7), Gunner's (F6 if equipped with a RWS), Driver's (F9), and Squad Leader's (F11) positions.

The dismount section for the M113G3-DK is 7 men, equipped with 4 M136 (AT4) light anti-armour weapons, 5.56mm rifles, and a MILAN ATGM.
