Mi-24 Hind E
The Mil Mi-24 is a heavy, five-blade rotor, twin-engine attack helicopter with limited troop transport capability manufactured by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant. Although often described as a flying tank by both its pilots and victims, in both design and usage, the Mi-24 is more akin to a flying IFV than a true attack helicopter.
The modeled version is the 1976 Mi-24V (NATO: Hind E) armed with a Yak-B four barreled 12.7mm HMG and carrying a basic loadout of four 9M114 Shturm (NATO: AT-6 Spiral) anti-tank missiles and four B20 Rocket Pods carrying twenty S-8KOM 80mm rockets each. Serving as the primary attack helicopter for the Soviet Union, the Mi-24 continues in that role for the Russian Federation and nearly sixty other nations throughout Africa, the Americas, and the Near/Middle East.
As of version 2.640, helicopters with transport capability, such as the Mi-24, carry troops. The default dismount section for the Mi-24 is four men, divided into a two man sniper team and a two man ATGM team (AT-4 Spigot).
