General

The Pizarro MICV (Mechanized Infantry Combat Vehicle) is a member of the ASCOD (Austrian Spanish Cooperation Development) armored vehicle family. Co-developed by Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG of Austria and Spain's Santa Bárbara Sistemas (both now divisions of General Dynamics) the Pizarro is in service with the Spanish (2001) army while the nearly identical Ulan serves with Austria (2002). A well armoured and modern design, the vehicle is protected versus 14.5mm projectiles across the frontal arc, and with applique armor kits can withstand up to 30mm AP. In Spanish service the Pizarro is also fitted with SABBLIR reactive armor on the turret and hull fronts.

The dismount section for the Pizarro is 6 men, carrying 2 M72A4 LAW light anti-armor weapons, an MG3, and 5.56mm rifles.

See the "Vehicle Manual VCI-C Pizarro" manuals in the "Documents" folder of the Steel Beasts Pro PE" start menu folder for an in-depth discussion of this vehicle's crew positions and employment.
