General
The T-62 is the successor to the T-55, and entered service in 1961. Principal differences include a larger 115mm gun, along with a redesigned turret, longer hull, and an automatic spent brass ejection mechanism. The T-62 has a conventional crew layout with four crewmembers: driver, loader, commander, and gunner. The gunner and commander sit on the left side of the turret, and the loader on the right. Like the T-55, the ammunition layout is fairly archaic, with a few ready rounds in the turret, and the majority of rounds stored in the hull. This leads to an initial high rate of fire, which rapidly diminishes after the first 3-4 rounds; after this, rounds need to be loaded from the hull.
