General

Entering production in 1976, the Unimog 1300L is a medium 4x4 utility truck manufactured by Mercedes-Benz. Produced in a staggering array of models, the Unimog family has found extensive use by military and civilian users worldwide.

Available in Steel Beasts Professional as a cargo, troop carrier, or Ambulance, the cargo version this vehicle can provide resupply services for ammunition to the armed vehicles and missile/hmg teams represented in the simulation. Additionally, the cargo version can provide limited repairs to other damaged vehicles. The Unimog 1300L vehicle is available to Blue, Red, and other factional forces, and will only transport, repair, or resupply units of its own side. Thus, a Red vehicle or infantry unit cannot use a Blue Unimog truck.

Resupply of ammunition can be accomplished by moving the unit that requires ammunition close to the Unimog truck and then waiting. Resupply will automatically commence within a couple of minutes. Repairs are performed in a similar manner. Note that full resupply may take some time.

As a troop transport the Unimog 1300L carries a dismount section of 10 men, equipped with 2 M136 (AT-4) light anti-armour weapons, a MG and 5,56mm rifles.
