  1. BG ANZAC will be running Rolling Thunder (RT'18) this year over the Easter Break (unsure if both the Orthodox and broader Christian dates align this year) As has become traditional, this year is "local" year so its set in Australia. But don't worry, back to Europe in 2019. Sequence: 3 x Missions (each 90 - 120 min long) with "small" 30 min break in between for drinks, loo, etc. Location: Mission location, Shoalwater Bay, QLD, Australia. Timeframe: Early 90s: ASLAV, Leo AS1, M113 Recon, M113 Mech Inf, M60, Cobra, Kiowa vs T-55, T-72, BTR80, BMP2. etc. Participants: AS and USMC against OPFOR Likely time: starting at 1800 GMT Options: a. 1800 GMT Friday 30 March (early Saturday morning in Oz): https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20180330T1800 b. 1800 GMT Saturday 31 March (early Sunday morning in Oz): https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20180331T1800 c. 1800 GMT Sunday 1 April (early Monday morning in Oz): https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?iso=20180401T1800 1800 GMT on Easter Monday is not an option as its Tuesday morning (a work day) here in Aust. It will help us with planning if you select the best option for you in the accompanying "poll". Sorry but creating questions appears to be currently broken (I've added a post to the "Forum upgrade thread") so please tell me "a", "b" or "c" in your response below - the poll closes at 2359 31 JAN 18, Australian Eastern Summer Time. If one option is good but another you might do at a pinch (say can attend all 3 missions in "a" but only the last two for "b") I would appreciate it if you could add that to the comments below. Back story, Format, mission outlines, etc. (the usual RT stuff) can be found here:
  2. Who is BG ANZAC? https://www.bganzac.org Described here: http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/showthread.php?t=21753 A couple of examples of the BattleGroup at work: Multi Player session: Training session: So if you are interested, visit our web site https://www.bganzac.org and sign up. Timings: Thursday evenings, Australian East Coast time. Through a combination of democracy, state's rights and bl**dy mindedness, the country is now fractured into numerous time zones (three wasn't enough) for the next six months and we need to adjust the start time. Next meeting: 0830 GMT on Thursday, January 18th. 0830 in London (GMT / Zulu) 1630 in Perth 1800 in Darwin 1900 in Adelaide 1830 in Brisbane 1930 in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra 2130 NZST in Auckland Your Local time: Local time for your part of the world Count down: Time remaining until Meeting start Mission will start promptly at 0830 GMT. If you want a pre game "chat" then by all means come on line at say 0800 GMT, but so that the Kiwi's aren't after Midnight the Mission will commence promptly at 0830 GMT. In game chat / Communications: You'll need access to "Teamspeak" to communicate with us. This is detailed here: http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbwiki/index.php?title=Starter_Pack Remote Access / Screen Sharing / Whiteboard Sessions: We continue the use of TeamViewer so people without the Steel Beasts software can connect and see and hear what we see and hear (looking over our shoulder if you like). http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx?pid=google.tv.s.au&gclid=CPLOveOGlcECFVgkvQodqk0A4g This maybe a suitable vehicle for people to see what the software is all about (you can even use it on a Mac), without having to invest in even a short time limited copy. Anyway we'll see how it goes. Agenda: In terms of this Thursday night, depends on sign ups but: 1. Last week's Whiteboard / Demo / Tutorial session went well (much less screaming about the #$%#$% AI). Unless demand is high, I think we will limit this to one session in four as it curtails the actual playing component of the night. 2. Ongoing conversation about Rolling Thunder 18 (and an idea for Rolling Thunder 19) - see how the scenario developers are going. 3. Revisiting some "not so easy missions" from the past - probably harder still after 4.023. These need a few people to turn up. 4. Do some "Brilliant at the Basics" work? Perhaps leverage off "1.". As always, visitors / first timers / spectators are welcome. Current Standard: 4.023 Please use the new Calendar RSVP function or post here to facilitate planning.

Timings: Thursday evenings, Australian East Coast time. Daylight Saving has ended and the number of time zones have shrunk Next meeting: 0900 GMT on Thursday, July 6th. 1000 in London (BST?) 1700 in Perth 1830 in Darwin 1830 in Adelaide 1900 in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra 1900 in Brisbane 2100 in Auckland Your Local time: Local time for your part of the world Count down: Time remaining until Meeting start Mission will start promptly at 0900 GMT. Anyway we'll see how it goes. Agenda: Depends on sign ups but: 1. New and improved Chong Ju issued a couple of weeks ago. Please Note: A plan file that you have built for the original will not work with either of the newer ones, so if you want to use your plan file, we must use the original scenario. Or you can get one of the newer ones and "update" your plan to suit. 2. Do some "Brilliant at the Basics" work? 3. Scope for Q & A / Tutorial / new Features in 4.019 session - again depends on responses and if people come ready to ask questions. For this session I'll be back "on the road" - so I'll need to remote in again. While I will be able to host, being able to effectively play in the 3D world for me will be unlikely. Then for the following three or four weeks, I'll be at Enoggera and I'm uncertain if I can run a session from there (depends on when I'm in the CP). I'll update this once I know what the manning is. As always, visitors / first timers / spectators are welcome. Current Standard: 4.019 Please use the new Calendar RSVP function or post here to facilitate planning.

Daylight Saving has ended and the number of time zones have shrunk Next meeting: 0900 GMT on Thursday, May 4th. If you want a pre game "chat" then by all means come on line at say 0830 GMT, but so that the Kiwi's aren't after Midnight the Mission will commence promptly at 0900 GMT. We continue the use of TeamViewer so people without the Steel Beasts software can connect and see and hear what we see and hear (looking over our shoulder if you like). http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx?pid=google.tv.s.au&gclid=CPLOveOGlcECFVgkvQodqk0A4g This maybe a suitable vehicle for people to see what the software is all about, without having to invest in even a short time limited copy. Anyway we'll see how it goes. Agenda: Depends on sign ups but: 1. New and improved Chong Ju issued last week - After Jumo's valiant effort, will anyone else step up. Please Note: A plan file that you have built for the original will not work with either of the newer ones, so if you want to use your plan file, we must use the original scenario. Or you can get one of the newer ones and "update" your plan to suit. 2. If no one is ready for that then if we get enough, I thought we might give one of the OPERATION SCORPION battles a workout. 3. Maybe a chance to look at Panzer Leader's latest, but as its Head to Head it will need enough attendees to man both sides. 4. Do some "Brilliant at the Basics" work? 5. Rolling Thunder '17 - getting to the meaty part. 6. Scope for Q & A / Tutorial / new Features in 4.019 session - again depends on responses and if people come ready to ask questions. As always, visitors / first timers / spectators are welcome. Current Standard: 4.019 Please use the new Calendar RSVP function or post here to facilitate planning.

Anyway we'll see how it goes. Agenda: Thursday night prior to the Easter break around here so we'll see who can make it (some maybe on the road for school holidays). Depends on sign ups but: 1. Assuming that we have run all the introductory Chong Ju plans a run, I thought we might give one of the OPERATION SCORPION battles a workout, or do some "Brilliant at the Basics" work before unleashing the "not so easy" version (where the enemy has a bit more say in things).
