This comprises of 2 x platoon of six Leopard 1A5, a section of 4 x Luchs A2 and a platoon of 3 x Fuchs 1A6 from 5 Company attached. The Soviet 3rd Combined Arms Army is attempting to encircle HANOVER and lead elements of 7th Guards Tank Division captured NEUSTADT AM RÜBENBERGE late yesterday. Helicopter reconnaissance confirms a BTR-equipped motorised rifle company has occupied the town and established a hasty defence. After a pause overnight the Soviet advance and encirclement of HANOVER is expected to continue at first light. Commander of 1 Panzer Division’s (1 PzDiv) intent is to confirm strength of enemy (ENY) defence in NEUSTADT AM RÜBENBERGE in preparation for counterattack. Additionally, determine direction of advance of ENY forward security element so 1 PzDiv can move to block main body along axis of advance. Insert a patrol using infiltration route BEOWULF to observe and report on activity behind ENY lines. Avoid decisive engagement and maintain combat effectiveness for follow-on tasking by 1 PzDiv. You have a troop of three M109G 155 mm self-propelled howitzers firing HE and SMOKE in support. Hauptmann, the plan to complete the mission is up to you. Map

  8. Kanium Sunday 17th of Sep 1800 UTC "Operation Gauntlet" by Swordsmandk Where: Kanium TS : teamspeak3.i3d.net:10077 World Clock 1800 UTC Everybody is velcome , though we recommend that new players contact Major Duck, Swordsmandk to get an intro to our use of TS and get setup and get a small get familiar session sometime before the scen as it can be a very very steep learning curve to play multiplayer compared to single player. Its our experience that most new players hang around much longer with that approach and most learn something new that way. We have no requirement for participants to be a member of our VU(Virtual Unit) and you can be a member of other VU's and still play with us or to participate on any number of games etc..., we have a rule that says that your only velcome when you want to play and remember family is more important then the game. 1) SITUATION: a) Enemy: ENY attack in direction of the BERG RAILYARD has been slowed and ENY losses are high. We estimate ENY will attempt a flaking move south along R375 to turn our flank. An ENY mixed BTN of T80, BMP2, Hinds and possible older equipment has been sigthed heading along that road. ENY will be supported by heavy artillery and electronic warfare units with jamming equipment. b) Own: Most of our defence have been focused on holding Berg Railyard. To the south along R375 we have TNK COY (-) with mech support to delay ENY advance towards MORSHYTTAN and the ROAD JUNCTION just north of it. We have more reinforcements comming in from the south but they will have to pass through the junction and MORSHYTTAN to be able to support our defence in the area. We have been unable to reach higher command due to HEAVY radio jamming, so essentially it is up to you as COY CO to delay ENY advance on MORSHYTTAN for at least 1,5-2 hours. Delay ENY advance while keeping casulties low. c) Attachments and detachments: - 2 x TNK PLTS STRV 122 + 2x CO/XO TNK (Reserve PLT can be called in from MORSHYTTAN only if 50% tnk Casualties have occured) - 1 x MECH PLT CV9040B with NLAWs and GUSTAVS - 1x RECON PLT CV9040B with GUSTAVS - 1x CSS PLT - 2x OFF MAP BTY 155 - 1x UAV - Engineer assets for pre planned obstacles + 1 PLT ENG with M136 AT + 1 Biber 2) MISSION: 1) Delay ENY advance on MORSHYTTAN and ROAD JUNCTION for at least 1H30M - 2H 2) Minimize Casualties and conduct mobile warfare when possible 3) Protect UAV (Keep it at range from ENY since its the only one you have) ROE: 1) Only recon units is allowed to deploy north of 48 2) NO artillery strikes north of FLOT is allowed 3) Game will end if either CO or GM ends it due to losses or capture of objective 3) EXECUTION: [Finally: The player's mission] SIGNAL: COY: 26000 A1 PLT: 46000 A2 PLT: 31000 A3 PLT: 33500 Note: This will be a multi crewing scen so find a partner to dance with

This time we will work with more advanced concepts - but still in a training context. We have again convinced Kingtiger to take us through some training. More info will follow, but feel free to add points and content you would like to work with. This is good reading from KT: http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbwiki/index.php?title=How_to_fight_tanks_with_ATGM And this: http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbwiki/index.php?title=Category:Infantry It would be nice to have a general idea of how many we will be for the sake of the scenario, so feel free to sign up below if you already know you want to participate. Otherwise show up on time (around 15 minutes before kickoff), and we will sort that out as well. All request and wishes to future games are as usual welcome. The theme in general is that this is a training session, so training SOP´s, tactics, gunnery or what the people want. Small unit stuff in other words. Sessions will be open to anyone regardless of nationality, affiliation and level of skill. Only requirement is that you can speak and understand a comprehensible english, and can get along with others to the degree that you can interact with them.

Operation Desert Tortoise I by Apocalypse 1. SITUATION a. Enemy. An Armored Battalion from the 18th Armored Brigade is established in a deliberate defense along Pioneer Pass. They currently have one company of T-80U tanks, supported by dismounted infantry forward, in vicinity of OBJ SLAYER, that has established a disruption zone to provide early warning and maneuver space for the remainder of the Battalion, which has established their main battle zone around the bottle-necked area of Pioneer Pass. The enemy maintains sufficient indirect fire and engineer assets (we anticipate at least 1x mine belt surrounding OBJ SLAYER), and is being supported by a sortie of attack helicopters that it may employ at any time. b. Friendly forces are assembling for a Brigade-sized attack that will require Pioneer Pass to be clear of enemy forces. In this sector, Team Kanium will lead this attack by clearing enemy forces within the valley and seizing Pioneer Pass, in order pass elements from 2nd Battalion that will continue their attack to the West. 2. MISSION Team Kanium attacks to seize OBJs SLAYER and ANTHRAX, to allow follow-on forces freedom of maneuver through Pioneer Pass. 3. EXECUTION a. Purpose. The purpose of this operation is to seize key terrain, so that follow-on forces have freedom of movement. b. Key Tasks 1. Seize OBJ SLAYER 2. Seize OBJ ANTHRAX 3. Clear enemy armor within Pioneer Valley & Coyote Valley c. End State i. Terrain. Pioneer Pass is seized and enemy (armor) are clear from Pioneer Valley ii. Friendly: Friendly forces are prepared to safely pass follow-on forces from 2nd Battalion. iii. Enemy: Elements of the 18th Armored Brigade are defeated, destroyed, or neutralized; unable to interfere with friendly, follow-on forces. iv. Civilian: Minimal collateral damage and disruption to the civilian way of life. d. Fires 3x Batteries of 155mm will support this operation. (Offscreen)

SITUATION Enemy: A reinforced enemy mechanized infantry company has established a defense-in-depth at two bridge crossing sites at the river. They are composed of 4x PLT of BMP2's and infantry armed with AK74s and RPG-27s. They have been supplemented with tank support, consisting of 3x Platoons of T-80 tanks. Additionally, the enemy we are facing has been given priority of engineer support - expect dug-in positions with at least one protective mine belt. Its NOT an attempt to compete with the excellent multiplayer games that the canadians and Gibson mounts, and which I and we will recommend for all to try. Or any of the other good games, which I and we fully support. Its merely a question of timing: For those in the european timezones then its hard to get up at 2 o´clock in the morning. Also for those only doing the Kanium games on sundays, then wednesday seems to be a good day to do a multiplayer game in between. Following up on the first game, then we will continue every wednesday unless otherwise announced. We will have access to a dedicated server and can play any game in any way that the players want.
