  1. Main Menu Redesign

During May and June of last year, the final assignment for my Graphic Design 4 class was to create whatever we wanted. I chose to have some fun and try redesigning the main menu of Steel Beasts Pro. The objective I established was to redesign the Steel Beasts Pro PE menu in a way that makes use of greater hierarchy and contrast while maintaining a layout that would be easy for veteran players to adjust to. To the left is the current menu with the default background, and to the right is the redesigned menu with the default background (All photos depict a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution): Here is what the redesigned menu would look like with a few custom Splash Screens, the first two backgrounds are taken from screenshots posted by Lusik to pg. 105 of the "We love screenshots" thread: And finally, the redesigned menu with my personal splash screen: For those interested, here is a somewhat incomplete redline of the menu design: For those of you wondering if the X in the top right is to close the game, you're correct. I don't remember why I put it there, nor why it turned pink in the redline. That's all there is to it, feel free to comment what you think about the redesign. Please note that this is not a request the development team to use my redesign.
