Here I've created an M1IP Abrams tank from the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment as it would be seen in Germany during the mid to late 1980s. By using dpabrams' amazing 11th ACR skins as a template, and Splash's fantastic M88 tracks for the Abrams's period correct T156 Tracks, I was able to replicate a generic M1IP resembling most found in pictures during that time period. I highly recommend checking out both of their mods linked below:
  3. KANIUM SUNDAY 7th OF OCT 1800 GMT - Elvis Ringing the doorbell by Zipuli, tweaked by SwordsmanDK and slightly adjusted by Nike-Ajax Where: Kanium TS : teamspeak3.i3d.net:10077 World Clock 1800 GMT (Same time as always) World clock 1800 GMT IMPORTANT NOTICE: This SB session may be recorded with video and sound and uploaded, including to a public youtube channel. Everybody is Welcome you don't have to belong to Kanium. We love playing with you all, the arranger and CO loves you even more if you sign up in advance ELVIS RINGING THE DOORBELL Kanium - By Zipuli Finnish 1.Tank Co+ / 1.Mech TF attacks against enemy Mechanized Rifle Regiment's flank south of Highway 6. Conditions: Mid-day, autumn, light rain - poor visibility. Forces (new OOB): Leopard Co+ (not in full strenght) 2 x Command vehicles (1 x TNK, 1 x CV90/30FI) 2 x Tank platoon (Leopard 2A4) 2 x PzJaeger Platoon (CV90/30FI) 2 x Biber, 2 x WISENT AEV, 2 x Fuchs ENG 1 x Batt. 2S1 (6 Tubes) + FO Reserve: 1 x Tank platoon 1 x PzJaeger Platoon NOTES: -EYE has found a suitable river crossing spot for you if the bridges are destroyed or mined. The spot is marked on your map! If you need to cross the river with the pioneers, use TRIGGER 2 to lay smoke screen to cover the crossing! -Remember to report when you have reached the objectives (TRIGGER 4 and 5) and TF CO can coordinate his attack accordingly! Mission score is based on enemy casualties and objectives taken Mech TF CO's orders to you: 1. SITUATION ENEMY: Enemy 63rd Mech Rifle Regiment is attacking south-west via the Highway 6. Its forward units are already in battle with our InfBn107. The Bn should be able to hold out for one more day - but then a breakthrough is possible. The regiment has covered its left flank with quite strong detachment (we believe around 2 companies of Mech Infantry + possible tank detachments, possible guarding the whole Division's flank!). The detachment has already conducted recon by fire against our Jäger Bn 101 suffering minor casualties. FRIENDLY: Jäger Bn has moved in to block the enemy flank guard units from advancing further west. 1. MechTF has moved to the area and has suffered casualtied from enemy air attacks. 1st Co+ (ELVIS - you!) has reached R15 (Ref Point 15) and is ready to attack north. Armoured Recce platoon (EYE) is already in the objective area giving out info on the enemy. MISSION: 1st MechTF attacks north towards Highway 6 and destroys enemy flank guard units. Attack must begin ASAP. After defeating the flank guards the TF will attack the Regiments flank to release the pressure on InfBn107 and to allow further counter-attacks by other friendly forces. Commander's mission to subordinates (in the area): 1st Co (ELVIS): Attack to R19 - secure the area and be prepared to continue north towards R31. Destroy any resistance you run into - enemy is believed to have ~platoon size "doorbell" force in the village. After reaching R19 Mech Inf-Platoon (ARROW) will move in and hold the area while you continue the attack.

  5. We have all been in the situation in Steel Beasts where a SABOT round is fired into the side armor of an enemy vehicle, an explosion happens, the turret flies off in dramatic fashion, and it is obvious that the tank has been destroyed. However, what about situations where a round impacts a vehicle, the vehicle is considered destroyed, yet there is no dramatic smoking or explosions to make that suggestion. A situation like presented at the bottom of this post. I thus have two questions: 1. What factors are used in determining if a vehicle is destroyed? Is it a complete loss of operability? The death of the entire crew? Or (most likely) a mix of the two? 2. What would be the effects on the M1A1 pictured below, in regards to the systems, and the crew? Looking at an interior cutaway of the M1A1, I can guess that in the above photo, in regards to the crew the driver would certainly be dead, the Gunner, Loader, and Commander would suffer amputations at best. For components, the Powertrain Compartment would certainly suffer heavy damage, in addition to a large number of the turret's systems being rendered INOP. In short, the tank and its crew are no longer a factor for the enemy on the Battlefield.
