Moderators Volcano Posted November 10, 2016 Author Moderators Share Posted November 10, 2016 11 NOV scenario: Top Mech Company Challenge 01e-HN-4006 Both sides are different, but they have been balanced in subtle ways. For example, Blue recon all has TIS, while Red recon does not, but has more firepower, etc. SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: There will NOT be a draft. NOTES: Avoid studying the enemy's side; only gather intel from the briefing and exposed enemy unit icons (enemy intel), and briefly looking over both sides to figure out which one you want to CO. Anything beyond that ruins the fog of war element. To avoid passwords, open the scenario in Network Session as HOST and choose the side you want to play and go to planning phase. You may briefly look at both sides like this to see which side you want to play or CO on. As CO, once you choose a side, go to that side and create your plan. Remember to play within the TGIF House Rules and SB.com community rules.

Moderators Volcano Posted November 18, 2016 Author Moderators Share Posted November 18, 2016 TGIF will be in 4.010. This is why we tried so hard to get it out early in the day.

RedWardancer
@ Volcano: The equipment for Blue is inaccurate. The tanks I see available are NOT what is listed in the briefing.

RedWardancer
I'm out, my commo is down again. Not sure of the headset is just too old for all the updates or my system is just being a jerk. I can hear, but cannot chat. It's not the first time this has happened. Therefore, someone must take Blue command.

Gibsonm
Well when he had an issue on Thursday night (our time) there was apparently some other piece of software wanting to control his mic.

Zaphod
Bah It is not in the winning or losing , but the fun of the heat of the battle that matters. You could be on the winning side and not have seen much of the action ,

Gibsonm
Indeed, but if they had done that I think 5 or 6 of the 7 on Blue would have done so (based on the after match comments). But I suspect your comment was designed to elicit such a response so I'll stop there.

I've fought on the losing side too ,sometimes it's fun to lose a good fight. It's honorable to see folks fight till the end. That's how it should be.

Couldn't have done it without excellent play from all my subordinates. I'm sympathetic to Blue's travails in trying to manage a large force with relatively few people, but I think that Red had an even worse human:vehicle ratio. I gave my guys strict instructions to fight just a single vehicle in each platoon and put the other two/three vehicles in a hide somewhere, rather than trying to maneuver entire platoons.
Gibsonm
Yes looking at the AAR, Red did have a host of units. However, you could have (not saying you did ) focus people in areas where you deemed necessary as required. Such is the advantage of a defender (wasn't sure if you were meant to be attacking too - didn't read the briefing for Red). Blue was trying to manage 5 companies with 7 people (6 actually as I stuck with what I had) and attack on a couple of axes at the same time. Arguably its easier to manage a vehicle at a time on the defence than try to maintain the momentum of an attack plan, while jumping from Gunner's seat to Gunner's seat. Anyway, will see what next week brings.
ashdivay
Blue should have used thier TIS advantage in the open rather than fight in the forest
