Upgrade path from V2.460?

I'm hoping to get back into the game and would like to upgrade it to the latest version. I should be very grateful for any advice on how to proceed through the upgrade process.

As you can see, I have a very old version (V 2.460) and I understand that I need to buy a $40 license update to get to V3.xxx to work.

Anyway, once I have bought this, do I then download the 3.027 full installer then patch to 3.028 or am I missing some steps?

I just did this exact upgrade a few days ago.

Upgrade the code meter first: http://codemeter.com/us/service/downloads.html

From the second email after purchase: "PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU HAVE INSTALLED THE LATEST VERSION OF SB PRO PE AND THAT YOUR CODEMETER STICK IS PLUGGED INTO A USB PORT. Then follow the url below to add the license(s). Your web browser's security settings may need to be adjusted to allow a direct activation of your Steel Beasts license."
