Crusty
Following on from Marks Cambrai thread, On TV here in the UK on Sunday we had a programme called Guy Martin's WW1 Tank, the idea was to build a working WW1 MKIV to run down Lincoln high street for Remembrance Sunday. it's very good and well worth a watch but I'm not sure if the links work outside of the UK. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/guy-martins-wwi-tank http://www.burtonmail.co.uk/news/local-news/guy-martin-jcb-recreate-awesome-768456 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5074977/Grandson-remembers-WW1-tank-commander-s-bravery.html

Members Ssnake
Wasn't the Lincoln Street parade appearance (at 3 mph) cancelled because "public safety"? Bureaucrats can be soooo embarrassing.

Yes it was, in the end it wasn't the local councillors that called time, they were all for it, it was the police that played the health and safety card, and stopped it taking part in the Lincoln remembrance service. but in the end they took the Tank to a place that was just as appropriate, maybe even more so, the Cambrai battlefield.
