Rotareneg
When firing the Marder's gun in full auto the audio loops poorly, causing audible clicking/popping: It's not clipping (which is what I first suspected,) here's the waveform as recorded:
Wax Savage
Great detective work, Rotareneg! My boss always said, 'never bring me a problem without a suggested solution. Good, bad, or just nuts... at least you're trying to be part of the solution'.
Members Ssnake
It's nature's way to tell you that you shouldn't fire bursts, as tempting as it may be. Doctrinally burst fire is only intended against air targets. I do it all the time, though.
Moderators Volcano Posted March 6, 2018 Moderators Share Posted March 6, 2018 The sound file is fine, what is happening is that the number of samples is exceeding the limit (due to rate of fire), which causes previous sounds to be terminated, so you get the pop. This is something that a new audio engine would have to address (or maybe in the mean time the buffer can be increased on that one particular sound, we'll see).
Bond_Villian
So what youre saying is that ITS TIME for MORE BUFFER!
Members Ssnake
That was our working hypothesis, but as so often the issue turned out to be way more complicated.
Grenny
...while you're at it...add the "pling-plong" of 20x139mm casings hitting the turret roof
