Land 400 Phase 2 - and the winner is .....

Recommended Posts

Rheinmetall!

The Boxer based CRV variant beat BAE's submission.

Now we just have to build the 225 combat reconnaissance vehicles.

A new model might be in future releases of SB Pro PE. :)

Thanks.

The British army want the boxer as well

I'm not sure they want the CRV variant. I think they are looking at the APC / IFV variant.

The Boxer CRV's gunners control handle look similar to one we've developed for a desktop trainer for another vehicle.

I wonder are the sneaky peaky days of recon being replaced by larger type recon vehicles that rely on sensors and drones.

What's up with the super structure around the cannon?

reduces vibration and increases accuracy of the gun esp. in burst fire...

I wasn't present, but my understanding is that the final test had both contenders parked over a sizeable IED (same size for both).

After detonation, the Boxer drove off under its own power, the BAE one had to be towed.

I heard similar during trials when we were looking at FRES UV. Out of 3 contenders only the Boxer drove off.
