I think my Dongle is Dead

Recommended Posts

Been using the same dongle since the first few months since dongles started being used for SB.

I believe after all these years it has finally given up the ghost. See diagnostics file below. If it is the dongle that's dead what do I need to do to get a new one. If not then what do I need to do to make codemeter recognize my license (licensed thru version 4)?

Here's the diagnosticts file from the Web Admin:

Please contact me by email. When you do so, plug in the CM stick and observe:

  • Does the LED light up, and if so,
  • does it stay on, or does it blink?
  • If it blinks, does it do that for a short moment, or in a repeating pattern?
  • In what color?

Next, run the program "CmDUST" which is part of the CodeMeter installation. When the program is done it will open a Windows Explorer window with a new file in there, "CmDust-Result.log". Please tell me the answer to my questions above, and attach the generated log file to your email. I will then have a look at it and come back to you with my conclusions.

Thanks, Ssnake.

Turns out as so often is the case - "nut behind the wheel".

I'd just finished doing a thorough cleanout of all filters, fans and PCB's of my PC. Hooked everything back up and used PC without issue. A couple of days later when I loaded up SB - no go. Did this and that and finally figured it was just the dongle had died. That's when I posted about getting a new one.

But - it hadn't died. I'd hooked  everything back up but the USB hub that the dongle was plugged into - plugged the hub in and miracle of miracles SB license found. DOH!

Yay!

Another stunning success story for eSim Games' Amazing Tech Support ( eGATS )!

If you were a (U.S.) car dealership you'd be rich from diagnostic fees. :D This would've been a $195 post...just to find out what was wrong.

@Scrapper_511:D

I always plug the "all tanks master key" direct to main USB connector never use those HUBs just in case (have one but I just use it for other stuff non important for my mental health) B|
