Abraxas
Hi Ssnake, I just found out that the Leo2A5 and others only drive speed level 1 in darkness. As soon as it gets a little brighter, all can suddenly drive up to speed level 3 again. Only in driver's position you can use up to level 3. So it's unpossible, to create a scenario in full darkness! Could you check this and have it turned off if possible? Thanks Abraxas
Moderators Volcano Posted November 17, 2018 Moderators Share Posted November 17, 2018 Check and see if you have "NVGs" allowed on the vehicles. If you do not, then the drivers will drive slowly, but the user can get in and drive faster. If you do have NVGs allowed and the vehicles are still driving slowly at night then that would be a bug.
Abraxas
In all vehicles NVGs are allowed! It's a bug!
Members Ssnake
I should point out that I still don't rate SB Pro as simulating night combat conditions. One day, hopefully, it will be. But we have essentially just extended daytime conditions into the twilight hours. For night proper, a lot of elements are still missing. That's no excuse for this bug, not even an explanation, I just want to point out that the expectation that combat in SB Pro would or should behave properly "in full darkness" is not covered by software design. Mission design under full darkness conditions is therefore unpossible for more than just the discovered reason.
Abraxas
I or we have to live with your explanation even I don't understand why in former SB-versions - for example in 2010 - full darkness scenarios were possible with full speed level. Thanks!
Members Ssnake
Because that the time EVERY vehicle could drive at full speed, irrespective of night vision gear or not, in black-out conditions. That was hardly realistic either.
Rotareneg
If you adjust the time and date so that there is a full moon, vehicles will drive faster at night.
Moderators Volcano Posted November 20, 2018 Moderators Share Posted November 20, 2018 OK, yes, I recall now - this issue is already known and on the list. (BZ4615, for internal reference)
