This poll is an attempt to gain confirmed availability from those who have shown a degree of interest here:

 

 

Over time I've had several people comment to me about their fear of participating in multi player for fear of "performance anxiety" ("I don't want to do multi player as I don't think I'm good enough", etc.).

 

In addition I've seen many players who don't believe they need to read documentation make what can only be described as "Rookie mistakes"

 

As a result, BG ANZAC intends to offer some Tutorial / Training sessions over the Christmas / New Year period. Initial feedback has constrained this to the first week in January '19.

 

Please note that the emphasis is on learning with only fairly simple confirmatory practises planned. These are not planned to be full blown TGIF / Rolling Thunder / Kanium replacements.

 

Methods of Delivery:

 

Probably a combination of:

 

a. Use of TeamViewer so you can watch my screen as I cover things.

 

b. Simple example missions that you can join where we'll use the "pause" feature to discuss / debrief things after they happen.

 

Suggested Topics:

 

1. Basics - F5 screen marginal information, plotting routes, LOS, applying suitable routes / tactics for the effect you want (aka don't bag the AI because it did what you told it to, not necessarily what you wanted it to ), ad hoc groupings, getting more than one unit to use / share a common route, how to join a multi player session, how to rejoin via the "pause and resume" feature, ...

 

2. Intermediate - Calling artillery, obstacles (sighting and breaching / reduction), CSS (resupply / repair), Map marking, Mil Symbols, ...

 

3. Advanced - Things for potential COs to think about (this is not meant to replace X years of professional military service / training), thoughts on Scenario Design, etc.

 

The list is not exhaustive with the idea being that participants will bring their own questions to the sessions so its not just me droning on.

 

I also want to provide you with some PDFs and other guides / reference materials that may keep you in good stead going forward.

 

Dates / Times:

 

This is basically what the poll questions are about.

 

Despite what some people might say, I think if you intend to come, you need to attend all three sessions. Certainly people attending Session 2 and effectively asking questions that were already dealt with in Session 1 will probably not have their questions answered in depth as its not what the group came to hear.

 

So assuming you are signing up to all three ...

 

There are three possible dates for Session 1 (I'm, only going to run it once but I'm trying to work out the "least worst" option).

 

There are three possible dates for Session 2 (again only running it once).

 

There are two possible dates for Session 3 (because December was no good for those who responded, I don't have time after the 6th as I'm back on duty).

 

For those who asked, I'm afraid that no this wont be recorded.

I'm just trying to understand the statistics here.

 

You are more than welcome to vote for more than one choice but if possible can you detail that here too?

 

For example, currently I have six votes for Session 1 options (two, one and three respectively for each posible time) and two votes for Sessions 2 and 3.

 

Just trying to work out if those six votes are two peope expressing their 1st, 2nd and 3rd preferences or if six people intend to come to session 1 and only two to session 2 etc.

From what you wrote, then I understood that there was going to be 3 sessions. Hence I ticked of the ones where i could participate: basically the ones at 2000 GMT, but can see that added more confusion.

 

So the three preferred dates for me would be:

 

Session 1: 03 JAN 2000 GMT

Session 2: 04 JAN 2000 GMT

Session 3: 05 JAN 2000 GMT

 

Also in line with the intent as I read it, then I would strongly encourage people with limited experience in mulitplayer to join.

I just answered the poll, after requesting answers for some RFI to HWHTBO (Her Who Has To Be Obeyed), and the situation is the following:

First session: fairly important for me, I could just attend Jan the 2nd. Maybe I could the 3rd early in the morning, but is the worst option for the rest, so...

Second session: I´m afraid I´ll miss this one. I could attend the 5th 0830, but in any case is the session that I need less.

Third session: I agree with the majority in this one, 5th 2000 is ok for me.

A pity, I´ll miss the Session 1 and 2, so I guess it makes no sense to show up for the third session.
