Put that tank down!

Hmm, It looks like a test rig for inclination/overturning... it is not a good idea to do this for real in a real tank - falling about in a box filled with sharp corners is a H&S nightmare ;)

The vehicle appears to be lashed onto the rig, presumably precluding it's leaving the platform, with the loss of ground pressure of the uphill track being the cue for the limit angle? The angle being externally driven, there is no need for any crew to be on board or near by in case there is a SNAFU.

(alternatives could be testing shipping arrangements (tie downs, etc) for rail/road/air/ship movement, but I'm going to go with my first choice)

It's the RF emission and radar reflection research and test facility at the German BWB. The tank on it can be rotated to any aspect towards the radar emitter to then measure its effective radar cross section.

Wouldn't the platform itself interfere with the radar returns something shocking?

DemolitionMan deserves a beer for actually saying what I'm sure everybody was thinking!

When will we have this wonder weapon in SB? Can I save money and launch older Leopard1's?

Heh...

If it is a tip-test platform...Those straps look damn dinky for that...

That said, why would you do a radar test with the turret over the engine deck instead of forward in a fighting configuration? The platform itself could possibly be filtered out, I suppose.
