Gibsonm
I understand how to do it in real time via the contextual menu (my German isn't good enough to translate Grenny's video, but I can click in the same relative places in the menu . ) Indeed I can get an AEV to build a scrape when testing (i.e. the issue is not because it has a mine plough on the front). However, I don't see similar options in the Mission Editor to script this work. I only see ARV type options "Hitch / Unhitch". I have read the nice A5 spiral bound book and while it talks about fortifications and placing them in the editor I couldn't find anything in the four areas I checked about creating vehicle scrapes. Is this: A. Work in Progress (coming in a patch soon) or B. Not happening - need to use the pre built "vehicle emplacement" or C. No you twit, this is how you do it .... DarkAngel
It's about the fortification. When you place one on the map and right cllick there is an option for "Completion". Set that to 0%. Now place an AEV. Notice it has a disc similar to a supply vehicle. Give it a route so that it's disc will be over the planned position et voila.
Members Ssnake
An AEV just needs to end his route in a "stay" tactic and will then work on unfinished emplacements within the detection radius around that waypoint. Ideally the waypoint will be placed in a way that the straight movement from it to the construction site is unobstructed.
Gibsonm
OK so work backwards from the final product (site the fortification, setting its variables [veh type ,1 or 2 step, camo y/n]), then plot the AEV's movement so it's "construction radius" includes the emplacement's position.
Members Ssnake
Or plot the AEV route first, then create the emplacements in the vicinity of significant waypoints. The point is, you don't really have to script much, as long as the vehicle "is around" and has no other mission orders.
Gibsonm
Understood. I had assumed that the "build the scrape" part was linked to the vehicle, not a linked operation where positioning the scrape provided the "where" and then you needed to bring the AEV into its vicinity for the "do".
