[Infantry Uniforms] Dismounts not wearing US 1980 Desert Uniform

Apocalypse 31

Recommended Posts

  • Map is AS Desert (Desert Theme, confirmed in editor)
  • BLUE side is set to US 1980 Camouflage theme
  • Tanks are seen using the correct camouflage pattern - 1980s US Desert camouflage
  • Dismounts are not wearing the correct camouflage pattern - dismounts are seen with the US Default camouflage (PVT Bruce, 2ACR) and not the 1980s US Desert camouflage

Well, there is a LOT of camo options in game, which do not have artwork to cover all 4 theme types (e.g. woodland, autumn, winter and desert), and  in such cases available default artwork is used(in your example with  'US 1980'- from textures/camo/default folder). This is how it always worked; so technically this is not a bug. Obviously an inconvenience,  and hands down it would be nice to have all possible combinations covered  some day, but this may take time.

If you just give us the file structure to make it happen, then people will fill the gap.

The file structure is there. It's in the mods folder.

However, the mods stormrider_sp refers to are for the us1990 troop model (with the kevlar helmets). I wouldn't be opposed to working up a version for the us1980 model, because although it saw pretty limited deployment, it did exist from what I've read.

If the sce is set in the late 80s, I'd suggest just using us1990 as the camo. You get the same MERDC desert vehicle schemes, and could use stormrider's or my six-color DBDU skin, or just keep the default MARPAT-like camo.
