Excerpts of the battalion commander's orders for...CG44 Chemical Ivan

Conditions: 5th March 2021  6AM  Overcast but dry 7 degrees


1) SITUATION:

Our allies have been forced onto the defensive but have held along their present positions for the last week.

Disturbing intelligence has reached us that the enemy are planning a new push preceded by indirect support with chemical munitions and utilising some of their BMP3 and T90A. Our allies are unable to pre-empt this with their available forces so we are going to take on the job.


    a) Enemy:
The enemy is setting up 2 batteries of their latest SP guns in the vicinity of Ballack with the actual munitions due onsite today.

Enemy defensive forces in the immediate AO consist of:

2 x Mixed Coy T90 and BMP3/BTR80  (1xTnk 2xMech Inf PLT)
1 x Mixed Coy defending Ballack area
3 x Mech Inf PLT (in total) depoyed in indicated positions potentially with Tank support
Recon elements and potentially ATGM team or two forward of this

2 x Battery Indirect off map support
Some CSS and AAA in Ballack

Potential reinforcements likely to respond to attacks on Ballack:
1 x Understrength Mixed Coy to the West of Ballack
2 x Coy T90 and 1 x Coy BMP3 to the South  (we have recon assets who will advise of enemy armour on the B5 or B7
    

    b) Own:

Initial TF

2 x PLT M1A2 from C Coy
2 x PLT M2A2 from A Coy  (Javelin in 2 and 3)
1 x CSS
1 x Sec ASLA25 (Commander is dismountable for scouting but no radio or Commander whilst he is out of the vehicle)

2 x 6 guns off map indirect fire.  HE/Smoke/60 rounds ICM

Reinforcements:

Remaining PLT of A PC and all B Coy Tanks once you cross PL Jackal

Additional Reinforcements:
In the event that command feels your strength in Tanks is getting low you will be offered the chance to draw on Battalion for B Coy M1A2 using Trigger 1
HOWEVER- doing so will release additional enemy armour (probably Coy strength into the AO from the SE map area. There will be a delay before these arrive so use any time wisely.

    c) Attachments and detachments: Allied T72 and M113 with dimounts are defending Isonza - not player controllable

2) MISSION:
A. Destroy all enemy vehicles in Ballack especially the SP guns
B. On clearence of Ballack a convoy of trucks will spawn - get at least one of them them to Isonzo. These are carrying the munitions. They will have no choice but to accept your offer of being driven back to Isonzo so we can present indisputable evidence to the UN of enemy intentions
C. Have less than 1 xPLT (3 callsigns) West of PL Fox (Disabled AFVs must either be recovered or, destroyed in place)

Mission will end at this point no matter what the enemy are doing.

There are 2 main routes West from you positions


3) EXECUTION

You will need to fight your way to Ballack
Clear Ballack area of enemy
Escort the Munitions trucks back to friendly lines


Desired End state

Enemy has lost both the guns and munitions for his intended attack
Remaining friendly forces back in Isonzo in defensive posture - Enemy may well pursue you all the way back!

No time limit except, after clearing Ballack the enemy is reacting!


5) COMMAND AND SIGNALS:
CO to control Indirect, CSS and captured truck but may delegate control as needed.

Can't make it. Having issue where 1080ti is disconnecting. I'm guessing a dodgy PSU.

 

screen goes black but can hear game in headphones. Monitor shows no signal.

Or your being shot at and the shutters are closing or your looking into the ground try shifting to F8 view when it happens to see if its the graphics or the game is doing what's its suppose to be doing kind of sort of

It's defo an issue as my monitor reports no signal. No matter what view I'm in.

 

Runs a few minutes then bang. It's gone.

I think KTs Mech will end up very busy this week! Doing it with 1 mech PLT is going to be very tough indeed but I suppose we have spares for him!

 

No CO again??

Discussed mission as mentioned by Zaphod and showed him my plan if I was Co , so  I will do Recon to start to Help Swordsman then do some Mech Inf and leave the AI with OPFOR unless we really need human opfor in which case I will do that and you load the Human OPFOR version

👍 I have put you as PLT commander of the second PLT unless somebody else wants it so if both Swords and you die you can be a 2 man team if not more depending on who shows up
