Administrators Sean Posted February 1, 2009 Administrators Share Posted February 1, 2009 I've attached the results of the scenario test. Thanks to Manteuffel, Tarball, Kingtiger, Wharborg and Volcano for participating. Only a couple of people with the new nvidia cards participated so unfortunately we don't know what the problem with that card is. Probably poorly written drivers. EDIT: Added new results. Hodo
Interesting results in that test... I will see if I can make time to test out my system and send you the frame rate specs...I am running a Vista 64AMD Athlon X2 dual core 5600+ 2.80ghz w/ 3GB ramand a Nvidia 8800GTX card.My resolution on everything is 1400X900.On average in SB Pro PE, I get around 40FPS. But slows down when lots of dust or smoke to somewhere in the high teens low twenties. May take a while before I run these tests... got to clear off some HDD space... to much junk on my HDD right now.

Moderators Volcano Posted April 19, 2009 Moderators Share Posted April 19, 2009 Keep in mind that the test is intended to be ran with default slider positions and no extra AA and AF on. But it looks like 20 fps in the built up area isn't too bad considering your the level of detail your sliders are set to, the extremely high resolution, and AA and AF settings. As usual it just comes down to what to compromise on for more fps...

raskil
Hi Banshee,I would think that Vista 64 and Nvidia ist quite a bad combination for SB at the moment. If you look at my test results above, you can see a dramatical fps hit on Vista64. I'll retry the Vista test with some older drivers when i get home from work.

I have forced AF, AA, VSync etc. from NVControl panel and now have not time to change profile. Salu2
Porphyr
HiThis is my result. Some of the Fps readings where a bit hard to do. A very slight adjustment of the view direction could give big drops or slight increases. The result in game play would anyhow be extremely erratic fps.I did the test in low resolution 1024 x 768 and with no AA or AF, sliders at default.Hardware and driversWindows 7 64bit betaIntel Core duo 6600 @ 3.18 GhzNvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MBDriver 8.15.11.81714 GB RAMCreative SB X-FI Frame Rate ResultsBuilt up areaExternal13External Zoomed10GPS Without TIS8GPS Zoomed Without TIS12TC Unbuttoned13TC Unbuttoned Zoomed9ModerateExternal16External Zoomed44GPS Without TIS10GPS Zoomed Without TIS18TC Unbuttoned12TC Unbuttoned Zoomed40Thick WoodsExternal18External Zoomed62GPS Without TIS62GPS Zoomed Without TIS62TC Unbuttoned19TC Unbuttoned Zoomed62Resolution1024x 768
