Frame Rate Test Results

Hi again

I have some good news :) I did the same FPS test, but I used the oldest driver I could find in Nvidia archived drives for Vista 64bit, that supports the 8800GTS. I also switched to 1680x1050 when I saw huge improvements. Default sliders and no AA or AF.

Windows 7 64bit beta

Intel Core duo 6600 @ 3.18 Ghz

Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB

Driver 163.75 (from November 6 2007) (For Vista 64bit)

4 GB RAM

Creative SB X-FI

Look at this  That's what I call improvement... Will try some stock missions as well now, and just keep fingers crossed I found a working driver for this set up.

Hi all,

I just purchased a new Gateway FX6800 series system. It is an Intel i7 -920 based CPU system. It has a ATI HD 4850 1gig video card, Creative/Realtek X-Fi MD sound, 3 gig ram. EDIT: System comes with and is running Windows Vista Home Premium Edition x64 bit.

I am smoothly running at 60fps with ALL options maxed in CCC panel and IN the sim as well. The lowest I have seen in some heavier combat so far is 52 FPS.

If you can afford $1000, I HIGHLY recommend this system to you. it comes as configured above and you can find it online or at Best Buy where I got mine.

I normally build a system but since I now dependent on VA disability due to my injuries funds are tight. For $1000 though I was able to buy this system and I have never been more happy with any machine I have built or purchased before. BTW, this thing comes loaded with TWO plug & play built in SATA drive ports WITH the caddies included in the front as well as numerous other nice features. No more cables, put a SATA drive in a caddie, plug it into one of the front bays and away you go!

Anyhow this system is running SB Pro PE smoothly and the only issue I am having is key commands not functioning for some reason right now..

Okey just updated to Nvidias driver 190.62. seems to have solved a few problems actually. but I still got 2 behaviors...

1. spike laggs, for a part of a second the screen freezes, the FPS dont drop

2. In this test I first had 15FPS in urban, so I djumped to other tank and when I went back I got these nice scores. why?

dont know, but i think its to random, i think the saves is every 3rd minute or so right? because this happens sometimes 2 times within 10 seconds then its out for 10more minutes and then I can have one short again. seem to have to do with loading the terrain kinda as it mostly happens when I look in new directions or the terrain is changing.

Maybe there's some background activity on your computer?

It need not be an application, it could also be a service that broadcasts a certain message into the network and then times out waiting for a reply that doesn't come. There are so many possible sources for behavior like this...

Well, you can start by googling for the process names to see if there is one that is known to be problematic. If that doesn't show a promising lead, have a look at the list of services. You can shut them down manually; do that with only one at a time to see if that changes anything.

Finally the SysInternals Process Monitor could be a valuable help (I think it's available from Microsoft.com as they bought SysInternals a while ago).

Yeah... neither the Intel T5500 nor the NVidia 7300 are particularly strong game performers, it's probably a good idea to reduce the screen resolution, and of course especially the ground clutter slider to maybe 15%.

Okay - this was for an acer laptop. I have not yet played any big missions - the largest was with 7 or 8 platoons - the tutorial for multiple units for the m2a2. I did not notice any slow down or stuttering in the refresh.

If I do notice a problem I will diy a desktop pc. Do I gt any benefit from making aquad core as opposed to a dual core? Also, have I got it right that SBPPe supports any resolution the gfx card can take?

Just installed the latest driver release from Nvida for notebooks. I'm running a GTX-260M on my rig and had a few slowdowns with the OEM driver. After install everything runs good. 50 to 60 fps in framerate scenerio test for all locations and stations etc. OS is Windows 7 64 btw. You can get the driver here

Hi!

I've been thinking to buy SB for a long time now but I'm a bit uncertain about the system requirements. My system: C2D 6700 (2,76GHz/Core), Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX+ 512mb DDR3 and 3gb DDR2 (800Mhz). Will the game run on my computer and if it does how well?
