Tacbat
Well, there are other factors at play besides the hardware requirements that will impact FPS. Namely OS, drivers, and scenario.
Members Ssnake
As SB Pro is a single core application, four cores do not help at all. There was some trouble with NVidia drivers that resulted in comparatively bad performance by GTX 280 and 285 cards, but I think that the problem went away as well with the latest drivers.
murkz
Using "Red Flag 1981 - Leo1A5 vs T55" by LtGeorge as a benchmark. Members Ssnake
Something's wrong there. I have a Radeon 4800 and ran the scenario with 3840x1024 resolution, graphics settings higher than default, at 62 fps almost all of the time.
ht-57
After seeing your resolution setting Ssnake, I must ask how do you like "surround vision"? It was one of the best upgrades to date for myself, until I procure the upgrade that is.
murkz
Ssnake, I just re-ran the test and yes I do get 15fps with all settings at maximum. I have now turned them down, General to 100 and the others a default. I get 47 - 62 fps now Though for a test we should all use the same settings. What does the Ground setting do? Administrators Sean Posted September 2, 2010 Author Administrators Share Posted September 2, 2010 Please run the benchmark sce developed for this thread, otherwise you are just muddying the water here. The directions are in the results spreadsheet at the top of this thread, and kingtiger linked to the sce itself a few more posts down. Ground controls how far out ground clutter is rendered. It will be interesting to see what the improvement in results will be in the new version, I'll have to make a new test on some maps that use the new buildings.Thanks.
Members Ssnake
Try out the Details settings and how they affect the looks of the terrain and the frame rate while previewing the 3D world. Hit Alt+D to bring up the dialog box and see some slider magic.
