Gibsonm
Numbers? There are boxes that show the formation that the units are using (you may need to zoom in to see it): From left to right: Wedge, Line and Column. There are another 5 choices but this should give you the idea.

You can now set the speed with a bit more granularity than before. In addition to slow, fast, etc. you should see numbers as well. 6 Kph for example is good if you want your APCs / IFVs to maintain position with advancing Infantry - rather than sprint ahead or lag behind. Apart from the earlier Inf and APC / IFV co-ord example, its also good for convoys, etc. so units travel at the same speed ("very fast" varies by platform, going, etc.) whereas 25Kph is a standard. Basically a traffic sign "Thou Shalt Drive at 20 km/h" Some customers wanted absolute speed settings rather than relative so it makes coordination across different unit types easier. Fair enough, there you go.

If I recall that was possible at one time. Yes. A given vehicle will do its best to maintain the specified speed. If the platform's top speed is 40Kph, and you set 60Kph on the route, it wont miraculously start to move at 60Kph. But it is useful for say ASLAV's escorting trucks so the group stays together, instead of just selecting "fast" for both. Alternatively you can set different speeds for different units if you want them to arrive at a certain point with a degree of separation. Pretty sure you can't change it from Kph to say Mph, just like you can't change grid squares from square kilometres to be square miles. Even if we allowed changing preferences to horrid non-metric settings there's still the question - change 20kph to 20mph (a 60% increase), so we can maintain the artwork? - convert 20kph to 12.4 statute miles per hour? - convert 20kph to 10.8kts? - convert 20kph to 2.6954 geographical miles per hour? Prior to the metric system there were more than 60 "miles" in use, which mile shall it be? Even the US Army uses the kilometer grid system, not going to touch this issue with a pole so long that I can still lift it.
