This will be a 3-part campaign, run every second Sunday - if all goes well. You are NOT under any obligation implied or practical, to have to participate in the next one if you play this. Nor do you have to have played this to play the next one. But it will be more fun 😁

For new players or players that havent played with us for a while: Please contact @Major duck or myself, to set up comms, right version and maps beforehand. Alternatively be there at least 30 mins before gametime.

For all players: From now on we will be there about 30 minutes before go time to test everything. If it isnt sorted before GO time, then we will have to start the game at the allotted time, for the benefit of all the other players.

Excerpts of the battalion commander's orders for...
OBS: CSS zone is 15 min repair all if unit and 13/BDE is located in the zone

NOTE: Red no go zone are penalty zone so avoid!

1.Situation

a)Enemy:

Enemy is attacking west from Poizten and Kreutzen after they have seized Fassberg Airfield to our EAST. They have secured crossings and are preparing to continue the attack further.

Elements of an enemy recon company have been sighted North-West of Trauen and in the area South on Munster moving West.

Recon flights shows unit consisting with an enemy Tank REGIMENT in our BDE AO.

Intel sources in Trauen and Fassberg have identified enemy forces of T64 (squint T72) and BMP1 and 2 type in the area. Marking identified them as 48th Guard Tank Regiment.

S2 estimate that they can bring in an additional BTN of tanks from their forces in EAST of Fassberg.

Enemy Air warning yellow.

b)Own:

The 33rd Panzer Brigade is still holding vital positions in the area despite being pushed hard.

Soltau is still ours and Munster has been encircled but is holding. We estimate that the ENY main advance is along COA-2 (Witzendorf area). Our recoy COY has been assigned to area SOLTAU-MUNSTER corridor and is attempting to locate ENY MTR BTN that has cut of Munster from Soltau.

The 331st Pz BTN(mixed) is now West of Witzendorf and has succeded in delaying ENY forces for several hours. Hvy rain has reduced forrest road passability (the no go areas will cause damage to tracks and wheels!!) You will have to defend between Witzendorf and Öhlsdorf until engineer efforts can be fulfilled.

Engineers efforts West of River Böhme is proceding well and we estimate most of the mine effort and shaping should be done in 2 hours.

Your BTN has been hastely reorganized into two BG's. North BG Meinholz (tank hvy) is holding the line. East BG Langemann has been reinforced and hastily repaired and will be ready for action in 15 minutes. Our small reserve is heading to CSS units for repairs and rearm and is estimated ready in 30 minutes.

BDE is still focusing ENG efforts  West of Böhme. You have 2x BTY M109 for tasking and 2x M106(Sect) for smoke missions. M109 is for HE and very limited ICM only. BDE is expecting a BTY of LARS rocket launchers to support your BTN.

2) MISSION:

You (CO BG Meinholz) will:

    1. DEFEND corridor Meinholz-Tetendorf for at least 1H30M.
    2. PRESERVE forces and DO NOT get fixed by ENY forces.
    3. IF forced back defend Tetendorf Bridge and as last resort DESTROY bridge with set charges.
    4. Coordinate with BTN and BG CO's iot conduct withdrawls and prevent ENY flanking attempts.

You (CO BG Langemann) will:

    1. DEFEND corridor Wtizendorf-Öhlsdorf for at least 1H30M.
    2. PRESERVE forces and DO NOT get fixed by ENY forces.
    3. IF forced back defend Öhlsdorf Bridge and as last resort DESTROY bridge with set charges.

CO for BG Langemann.

Some RFIs to the BN Staff:

1. S2 - What enemy can we expect as far as numbers? Tanks and IFVs would be preferred. Understand rough estimates.

2. S3 - What is the decision point criteria for us to transition from a delay to a retrograde if not able to hold for 1 hour and 30 minutes?

3. S3 - Where are the areas of operation for us and BG Meinzholz? Are there designated EAs and BPs that you want us to plan off of?

From S2:

ENY expected strength and composition in our AO:

1 x ENY RECON COY: Formed in PLTs of 2-3. Expected strength 3-4 PLTS made up of BRDM 2s and BMP1 s. Unknown how much will be allocated in our AO and how much in our adjacent sectors.

2- 3 x ENY MECH INF COY: Formed in PLTs of 3. Expected strength around 5 plts made up of 3 BMP 2s and 2 T-72B1s

2- 3 x ENY TNK COY: Formed in PLTs of 3. Expected strength around 3-4 plts made up of T-72B1s

Additional support and isolated forces of varying composition spread out throughout eastern part of AO and combined by remnants of forces made up by similar forces as outlined above. Combined expected strength around COY+.

Depending on actions in adjacent AO´s, then a risk of spillover of ENY forces in probes or flanking movements, of similar composed forces. or remnants thereof.

Finally then per Orders a risk of ENY airmobile forces transported by standard ENY rotary wing assets so MI-8 with a risk of MI-24 in support. Maximum expected strength 2-3 squadrons of ENY transport helos of around 3 helos each.

Ordnance from experience so far seems to be the latest, including:

BM-32 APFSDS-T
PG-15 HEAT-T
BK-21B HEAT-FS-T

Missile
AT-5a Spandrel/Konkurs
AT-3d Sagger/Malyutka

ENY Indirect strength:

Heavy and regimental with possible Divisional assets. So expected 3-4 batteries of SP Howitzers, around 2 batteries of SP MTRs and a risk of MLRSs in the shape of BM-21s

ENY CoA (expected):

Probing by ENY Recon assets trying to bypass, flank or fix our forces.

Followed up by attack in COY+ strength supported by heavy Indirect support.

ENY is expected to try to attrit and overwhelm our forces, but also bypass and flank us if they cant break through.

The ENY - if they see an opening - will also likely try to surround our forces and defeat them in detail, while fixing other forces in place.
