Galileo
The United States will have its own light tank and this is the proposal of General Dynamics Land Systems [GDLS], which in the final managed to beat BAE Systems. The information was confirmed by several news agencies in the United States, and the decision on who would be the new light tank of the US Army was made last week on Thursday https://fharbor.com/2022/06/29/us-chose-griffin-ii-tank-105mm-gun-lighter-chassis-than-m8-buford-bulgarian-military/
Captain_Colossus
not sure i follow the army procurement logic any more after they have poured resources into the development of similar platforms and cancelling them. it might have some advantage protection wise over say, a 105 mm armed stryker or even a leopard I tank, but to what extent is it really that much more significant against modern anti-tank weapons. possibly another money sink which ultimately gets replaced again. and again.
