New sound mod in the making. Please give me some feedback or tell me if you have interest 😙 +Subscribe on YT if you are interested in new implementations.
I add in new additions in the first post as well as a new post.

My mod attempt to compliment/replace most original sounds and try to give an overall "round" and consistent experience without loosing the original feel. But be aware, there are technical limitations, which cannot be avoided. There is no download right now. I will publish it when it is ready.

What was the recording source? Maybe they picked up some reverb in the original recording.

For REALISTIC arty impacts far, med range, close in go to the internet and find some real artillery sounds and impliment them into this sim..

The H.E. sounds close in sound like double explosions not one (bangbang)

I will look into it

Microphones are in 99% of cases too sensitive and neither can loudspeaker play REALISIC explosions, especially in close distance.  So i take the semi realistic approach. For e.g. i use live mg fire recording, but add library sound to to add more pressure and consistency to virous kind of bangs without losing the flavour of the real thing.

Most recording of explosions are just overdriven noises with no dynamics in lower, manageable db numbers due to hardware limitations. Using the term "realistic" is questionable.

I use library sounds and live fire recordings. However, with explosions i tend to use more library sounds, because recordings explosions is quite complicated and usually recorded with some distance with reverb. Most recordings are overdriven and flat sounding. Artist in me no like like

I did.

I have listened to the sounds and i have never heard "punta, punta.punta" for and high explosive sound..If those are supposed to be airbursts, not going to happen..Everytime i was under fire all of the explosions were loud, sharp, and cracking..The airburst should be a CRACK sound with a flash not punta punta..

What?

I've also been under fire from 57mm, 82mm, 107mm, and a few other calibers, so I'm familiar with how real life explosions sound - near and distant.

To add to that, these sounds are all sampled from a YouTube video from an artillery attack in Ukraine, circa 2014 (I see the video has since been removed).

When it comes to sound design, you'll never capture the true feeling of an explosion, for that reason exactly....it's a feeling and not so much a sound.

This reminds me more of the M-85 than the M240.
