Thorn
Hello all, I'm new here and I've been playing with the Mission Editor and in many games with mission editors (DCS World, ARMA III, etc) I'm usually able to select a unit and press CTRL+C to Copy a selected unit (and all it's waypoints if any) and CTRL+V to paste the said unit and any waypoints it has elsewhere on the map. This saves me a ton of time with designing missions and unit placement rather than manually creating units using menus and making all the new waypoints of each new unit. So, the question is in the title. Is there a way to do this? I couldn't find a manual for 4.357 but found a manual for 4.1 and skimmed through the mission editor stuff and didn't see anything mentioned about shortcuts. Gibsonm
1. The manual comes with the software. Look here: C:\XXXX\SB Pro PE 4.357\docs For: SBProManual.pdf 2. No, you can't copy units, but you can create a new unit and copy the route/route chain from the "original".

Members Ssnake
Yes, that's why we're working on version 5 with the new user interface middleware, so we can do things like that.

Given that 4.000's Release Notes came out in August 2016 and 4.357's Release Notes came out in August 2022, (i.e. 6 years for 1/3 of the gap between 4.x and 5.x) then even if you assume this was mainly due to the massive amount of work to include the terrain engine changes, etc. and that from here on its "easier" (never a fan of assumptions myself) then I certainly wouldn't expect 5.x any time "soon".

You know that you can make unit templates and then place them on map? Not as easy as copy and paste...but a good way to reduce workload in sce making
Moderators Volcano Posted September 23, 2022 Moderators Share Posted September 23, 2022 Late reply here but as Grenny said and to elaborate a little bit -- Right, you cannot get the attached routes and waypoints that way, but I "copy and paste" units all the time using the Unit Templates feature. Just select your units and save them as a template, then place them on the map (they will be in the Default submenu). This is a good way to duplicate APC/IFV infantry platoons where you set them of a very precise composition, with vehicle and troop ammo types and so on.
