Kanium Sunday 7th of May "Defence of Narva"

 

For all players: From now on we will be there about 30 minutes before go time to test everything. If it isnt sorted before GO time, then we will have to start the game at the allotted time, for the benefit of all the other players.

Mission Summary : 

 

Short history:
Recent elections in Eesti have futher made it clear that their new Goverment is agaisnt Russian influence. They are planning of cancelling many of the contracts between countries and this has caused a rather agressive reaction from Russia. They are arranging a huge wargame basically next to Eesti border, massing their forces as show of their cababilities. This caused a huge concern in Eesti and Goverment is apparently unwilling at this time to futher provoke Russia and has chosen not to respond in kind.  Instead they have send a warning order to all reserves giving them instructions where and how to proceed would a call to arms be sounded. However they are telling that this is just a wargame and show of force and that there is nothing to be concerned about. Meanwhile NATO has send warning to Eesti that Russia is actually planning to attack. Eesti gruggingly agreed to allow more NATO forces to be moved  to Eesti but denied arrangement of wargames or deployment of forces.

 

TF Kanium was assigned to move into NARVA region with task to wait until futher orders.  

 

Just now - We received message that there has been multible Explosions in Russian Embassies at Eesti.
    -> TF-Kanium is ordered to move to border and take defensive positions
 
1) SITUATION: 

 

Enemy Regiment of Russian forces have moved into, and are occupying the other side of border of Narva region. The enemy has strengthened their forces constantly and indirectly threatened Eesti with war. Recently, Russian forces started and huge wargame training just next to border, and it is still going. Enemy is known to patrol along border, and having moved heavy armor to border as response of TF Kanium in NARVA. 
 
a) Enemy: 
    Estimated to consist of Reinforced motorized BMP-3 battalion plus,  and additional Tank battalion ready to exploit success.  (T72b1 - b3). Enemy has established rotary wing landing / maintenance area for training purposes east of Narva.   
 
 
b) Own: 
    TF Kanium mixed company from US forces in Eesti and support from NATO. Includes:  M1A2 Seps (2 plt), Leopard 2A6s (1 plt), CV9040-B (2plt). company of each type.  (Available at the beginning others are in transit)  
 
c) Attachments and detachments:  

    Section of Apaches and 2x UAV-Camcopter (S-100). 2x  M113-FOs.  Ambulance x2, Recovery x2, Engineering x2 and supply units x5 (1 allocated to mortar section)

 

d) Fires:  

    3x 6 tube off map indirect batteries available with unlimited HE and Smoke, ICM is limited to 30 rounds. Mortar section 2x (2 tubes each)  CV90 Mölnir attached with Stricks rounds. 
 
 
2) MISSION: 

 

 In case if Russian forces will attack - Defend area of Narva and aim to stop their advance to area of Narva. For NATO to have time to intervene before Eesti is lost.  
 
 
3) EXECUTION:  
 
 Intent:  TF Kanium will guard and defend sector slowing and aiming to stop enemy attack to area of Narva. By keeping them under fire and causing heavy enough damage for their advance to stop. 

 

 

 

RULES:

- Main road from south east to narva and from crosroads to south Narva must be kept open for civial traffict unless war begins. FOR NOW, COUNTRIES ARE IN POLITICAL CONFLICT, NOT IN WAR. Narva is evacuated, and movement is limited but there still is some movement between countries and its directed on these roads.

- Minefields are to be placed on fields or forest to funnel / restrict enemy movement, not on roads or build up areas.

- Blue is to avoid opening fire at all cost. Last thing what Eesti goverment wants is war with Russia.

 

1 In case of unallowed crossing of border. Blue is to take screenshots for evidence. To try all means of pushing / guiding intruder back to where it / they came from
2 In Unclear situation in border, blue CO is to use best of his common sense, in order to avoid deeper crise than the countries are already facing.

   - If previous doesn't work blue is allowed to fire warning shots. NOTE these must be clearly away from intruder / enemy, prefetably to sky and away of Russian soil.

   - IF THERE IS CLEAR HARD EVIDENCE OF RUSSIAN ASSAULT / INVASION. BLUE IS TO DEFEND NARVA, AND USE OF LETHAL FORCE IS ALLOWED IN EESTI SIDE OF BORDER. (TRIGGER 5 - Permission to open fire)  

 

- 2 of any 4 IEDs can be used once trigger 5 is activated, to slow down enemy advance. 

- Airsupport 2x Apatches can be called if or when russian assault is detected. (trigger 6 - Call air support)

 

NOTE - Both sides use UAVs, but for identification purposes  Blue uses Camcopter  and Red uses Fixed wing (old type)

Since I am on Red side, I have very little knowledge what actual losses blue has so instead of usual.

 

Let us know if you are coming and of what would you want.  If you had unit previously, and want it back, let me know and I will assign you to that callsign.

Could be helpful if youd remember what callsign though.

Blue has delivered a devastating blow to red forces and it will likely take some time before Red is able to continue to push to gain control of Narva with heavy losses of IFVs and light armor that it has suffered.

Ok mission fixed, status with opfor. Southern Bridge is blown out. Opfor shifted forces just west of the river in the center and northern sector by setting up several crossing points but could shift south now so that is a concern. Opfor has been reinforced and has setup several defensive positions Incase bluefor tries to counterattack

Okay guys I have updated manning list based on whats available. And unusually... Blues force has increased?  There is now extra tank platoon.

 

However Leopard 2 platoon  is down to just 2 callsigns to what I believe were previously controlled by 

Roerback, Mirar, Connaught, and Tankenator.  I am not sure who was owning what, so I gotta take your word for it.   

 

But this means that only available leopard is A65 (XO)   

However rest of reserves will be leopard 2s, that is.. once those arrive, that may take a while.  

 

Meanwhile you guys have to man M1A2 seps or CV9040s   

 

@Higgs May I interest you with  A2 callsign meanwhile?     I assume some of A2 are probably in use by those guys who lost their Leopards  ->  Guys if anyone remembers who owned what, let me know. I don't know as I haven't spyed you (YET)  I am starting to get tempted to look from AAR to get this mess solved.   😂     next time let someone else do the post than the OPFOR 😆

Would you then take A2 platoon for your guys?   and leave Leopard for Higgs?   

 

Do you remember who were in your platoon, was it like this -  1 Roerback, 2 Mirar, 3 Connaught, and  4 Tankenator?

Uh if we dont get more coming you can either go with Higgs, or if A2 is missing someone you could go with them.   If we get more.. then I would place you on Delta 1    I think  @Falcon agrees?

A1 and A2 is priority, but I believe that @tankenator and @mirar are playing this Sunday?

If so, then feel free to pick whatever you want. I would personally prefer to have D1 rather than A3, but if some players want to have Leo2, we can make it working as well.

Since I don't expect to have an XO with me, A65 is considered to be a reserve tank (and can be used by anyone interested in Leo2).


In the end, all the main units are already taken, so pick whichever vehicle your heart desire

@Major duck, @Higgs, @Falcon  a suggestion.  how about  MD takes Delta platoon or rather a section of it, leaving a section as reserve, and Higgs takes his A3 section with MDs Delta section to form a full platoon, that can then be reinforced...  with whatever remains.  Alternatively..  MD could assume callsign of A3 with Higgs.

To be honest this back and forth is rather complex and I think at this point it would be faster if we just meet up on Sunday at 19:45 and dicuss it then on TeamSpeak.
