Sean
This is straight from the manual - either bookmark it or print it out, you will need it if you plan on doing any tinkering with scenarios or maps, etc.PERSONAL: The directory that serves as a repository for a user’s personalfiles. A typical path is: “C:\Documents and Settings\username\MyDocuments\eSimGames\Steel Beasts” . For VISTA: “C:\Users\username\Documents\eSimGames\Steel Beasts” .The PERSONAL directory contains:Personal scenariosSaved imagesExported filesMission reportsPersonal mods (e.g., skins and sounds)Saved PlansThis directory is created for the user when he runs Steel Beasts for the firsttime. In this case, only users withwrite-permissions to this directory will be able to use the map editor.********NOTE*********This folder is normally hidden. In order to see it, you will have to go to tools->folder options, select the view tab, and choose "show hidden files and folders in order to see it.*********************APPDATA: The directory that serves as a repository for application-specificdata. Tacbat
Maps come in two files, usually a height (.hgt) file, and a terrain (.ter) file. For Win XP, the height file would go in:C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\maps\heightThe terrain file:C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\maps\terrainThemes go:C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\eSim Games\Steel Beasts\map\themes

Ssnake
Thanks alot...took me a minute but I got it figured out.I think what needs to be said, again and again, is that the Application data folder is invisible in the default settings of the Explorer, so you need to change its settings to display hidden and system files or use the command lineexplorer "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data"Once that you're behind the "hidden" barrier you can see what's inside. Jarus
Is there any guys who can translate this in Vista speech?:debile2:The Paths for windows vista?:remybussi:thx
Ssnake
The problem with Vista is that it virtualizes all these folders if the user, presumed to be incompetent until proven otherwise, tries to access them. The good news is, ultimately it doesn't matter. The bad news, I know a place that I could use to look up the info, but it's in German and it would cost me more time to do this than I'm willing to invest, sorry. Jarus
German is okay....
Ssnake
Zeit.

(i have the mission editor open right now and tried it -- i couldn't.) but, you can load the sce files to the stick and transport them to a different puter, if that's what you're trying to do. bring your dongle stick though (codemeter thingy) -- that's your license. ontos
Thanks for the quick reply. I think I'll just keep loading them on my hard drive and a back up copy on my stick. The scenarios work great, I get blown up allot, but I'm learning. Still trying to learn the basics on the tanks.
