Gibsonm
They have become more developed recently, before they were pretty much just targets, and I believe there are plans to further develop the Infantry model for things like MOUT / FIBUA, etc.

digital_steve
Something needs to be done about them ... and will.Yeah, they're pretty horrible... still, as i said, isn't ruining my fun.GRRRR, WHOOSH, BOOM, ECHO, MANIC LAUGH, RUMBLE-RUMBLE, BOOM!HA! Tanks are great fun. I should probably start trying to learn though, instead of loading a tutorial and quickly hitting start and getting a rush of blood and firing as many rounds as possible before trying to workout how to reload. :cul:
JayTac
That is not quite correct. The backup cannot compensate for loss or destruction!A stick that has been registered with my.codemeter.com can however be reported stolen (by the owner, and only by him, for which you need to know the serial number and a "master code" which gets shown when you register it). Under certain circumstances Wibu Systems can then remotely disable the stick. If you could make a backup of the license and transfer it to another stick, that would totally defeat the purpose of the damned thing in the first place, wouldn't it?If you're extra paranoid (or cautious): The latest CodeMeter runtime has the option to lend a license to some other stick for a limited time. So you could buy a second, empty CM stick and then lend the license from the original stick to that one for the longest period that you could live without playing SB Pro - say, one week. If you then lose that second stick, at the end of that week the original stick's license is active again. Of course you'd need to rent a bank vault for the original stick, or hire a few bodyguards for it (but can you trust them? Oh... paranoia can be a bitch). But seriously: That's the only way to be really sure that the loss or destruction of your daily stick won't also eliminate the license.Of course, if you can verify the destruction of a stick we'd still be replacing the license (but we'd have to charge you 40.- for a new stick and shipping and handling).Stolen or lost sticks: A real problem since we'd ask you how we can be sure that you didn't "lose" the stick at your friend's home (and no, the claim "I have no friends" - though it may be the sad truth - is not good enough: Prove it!). Chances are, it may be impossible to prove that nobody else is using the old stick, and that you truly lost it (because you need to know, and prove, what happened to the stick, in which case it typically isn't "lost").jeesh.. Now I feel more like a convicted felon than an honest & loyal customer.
Members Ssnake
That certainly isn't our intent. We wanted to make our software protection to be pretty robust (I still haven't heard of a CodeMeter protected software to be cracked yet, despite being several years on the market already). We wanted to make it as hassle-free for the customer as possible - and plugging in a USB stick usually isn't a source of trouble. Unfortunately that means to bind the license to a transportable piece of hardware. Like any other transportable device, if it gets lost, stolen, or destroyed - it's gone.If you lose an iPod, you wouldn't expect a free substitute from Apple, right? We're not unreasonable. If you can explain to us in a convincing manner how you managed to lose the CodeMeter stick and that it didn't end up in someone else's hands, we'll offer a free new license, and just charge for the costs of the stick itself, shipping, and handling. But the onus is on you in that case - otherwise we'd open the door for one guy buying a single stick and then "losing it" at every friend's home, so we have to draw a line somewhere.
