Zipuli
Hey, this may have been brought up before, but...It would be cool to have the possibility to make the AI do "proper" ambushes. This would require the AI to know how to turn off their engines. As it is now, you can hear the enemy engines from a far.If there was an "ambush" command, which would leave the unit hull down with engines off facing the correct area or direction, the player would not hear the unit unles it fires. After firing the unit would start the engines, pull back to turret down and begin to "act normal", like it was defending.Currently you can do this to AI units in the editor by using "damage engine", but it only works for single vehicles and is not very useful in most situations.
Members Ssnake
Would the "Repair, if.." option be something for you?So you damage the engine while they are laying the ambush, and you repair the engine simultaneously with the Open fire condition?
Zipuli
Did that in a couple of scenarios, but with damaged engine they will automatically break off from the formation, so it only works for single vehicles. And it would also be a good command for bigger MP missions, so no need to micromanage individual platoons to turn off the engines...
Members Ssnake
I see. Well, I guess we'll get an engine kill command as soon as we add in the option to script helicopter landings.
