Can a building become a target?

Hi guys,

I'm just playing with a scenario and would like to designate a small group of buildings and an oil tank as the target. Is it possible to set up a structure with scoring etc. when it's destroyed or damaged?

Currently not, no.

Indirectly, you could place some unit nearby and create an event to be triggered if that unit was under indirect fire.

You could also try spawning one soldier inside the building. Haven't tried it myself though.

We've been discussing this for a scenario I made a few years ago. One good way would be to use a small (say 3 man) infantry team, set to blind. With the right tactic they will be in the building, provided of course that the entries are accessible and that its a suitable building.

Maybe also you could place several waypoints with the Suppress tactic aimed at the buildings.

Any units arriving at the waypoints will begin firing towards the build damaging it.

Score for how long the units spend at the waypoints.

That is lose points of collateral damage, etc.

Funnily enough, that thought came to mind after playing around with how to score when buildings are destroyed. I can't see any way of preserving buildings though.

It would add a unique 'test' to a scenario - especially those in urban areas.

Well thats the point of putting an infantry unit in the building. It can be friendly or enemy (so it doesn't show on the map). Then you can score based on the units survival, or make an event to see if they are taking fire (indirect or direct) and score based on the event not happening.
