Toyguy
If I simply change the install path, can I keep both versions installed or are there Registry entries that would conflict?I've made a backup of 2.483 on my secondary drive but then got to wondering if I could just leave it installed.
Gibsonm
Well I have 6 individual copies installed using that same idea and they all seem happy. This works for me under both Windows XP Pro and Windows 7 (64 bit) on two different machines.
Toyguy
Thanks Mark - I think I'll give it a try. I can always reinstall solo if necessary.
Members Ssnake
As long as you know what you're doing. Some of the traditional scenarios have been updated, so they will get overwritten and you may no longer be able to open them in previous versions. Be prepared for that. The same applies for map files, mods, etc.Furthermore, it could happen that if you uninstall an older version after you installed the new one, new files shared with identical names may get removed by the uninstallation procedure so that you will then have to repair/reinstall the new version.I'm just sayin'. That's why we recommend uninstallation prior to installing the new version.
