Excerpts of the commander's orders for NORTHCOM, Vigilant Guardian.

1) SITUATION:

*2 weeks have passed since the last mission, the company have been doing a lot of patrolling, showing our presence to intimidate any combatants, and make the locals feel a bit more secure*

All of BG Fortitude have now reached the AOR. TF ARCTICs ALFA company (Tank) is held in reserve. TF ARCTICs DELTA and CHARLIE companies have set up patrol bases the WEST of FOB Kalix and are conducting patrols on a regular basis. TF DANE is at work improving the bridges in the AOR and the EOD teams are at work clearing mines. TF BOOMERANG is acting as a mobile reserve based east of FOB Kalix.

B) Combatants:

See previous briefing

C) Own:

See previous briefing

D) Other Intel:

Blueland Army reports that the mine threat in the area is low.

E) Recent news:

After conducting a successful recon op, followed by a rescue Op into the area to the west of FOB Kalix, we managed to pinpoint and destroy several logistics bases and inflict heavy casualties on the combatants in the area. We also confirmed our suspicion that Redland are backing the PDC guerrillas. We have proof that the tanks and APCs encountered and destroyed during the last mission was of Redland origin. TF BOOMERANG is now gathering up Intel, weapons and prisoners from the area.

Yesterday one of Charlie Company’s MCPs (mobile checkpoints) encountered a large column of refugees heading east towards FOB Kalix. The physical condition of the refugees was quite bad, and Charlie managed to get some transport and escort for them. After interviewing the refugees we have found that food transports for areas to the WEST haven’t reached their destination for months, and that there is a famine. They are also talking about that the marauders come into the villages and towns to "tax" them for the little food they have, at gunpoint. UNHCR reports that due to the danger of mines and marauders they haven’t been able to secure a route into the area. The local Blueland commander report that that he hasn’t got the troops or trucks to mount an operation into the area. We are currently preparing a supply operation into the area, in cooperation with UNHCR. BRAVO Company is to act as an escort for UNHCR trucks heading into the area.

2) MISSION:

A) ROE:

Do not fire unless fired upon, or if target is identified as an enemy combatant with hostile intent.

Due to the nature of the conflict identifying fractions hostile will be a problem, and engaging the wrong one will bring hostility to our mission. Built up areas are due to friendly civilian activity NO FIRE ZONES for all but small arms and automatic cannons. Engagements in urban area should only be made against known enemies. CAS is also forbidden to engage targets on roads.

B) Mission objective

To escort UNHCR trucks into the town to the west (Elanga). Establish contact with the local Blueland militia commander at the District centre. With cooperation of the militia defend the trucks while they unload at the food depot. Escort the trucks back to our main camp.

That was a "bit" hairy! We received so much damage that I cannot list it all here, but thankfully only lost 1 vehicle (Eagle IV) KO, and the crew has reported they're alive but wounded. It's getting dark and tank engine sounds are getting closer and closer... What could all this mean? :D

Next mission will be interesting, I assure you! Hopefully the server version is finished for that!

Yeah, there was alot of minor damages from trees, new and very sticky African mud that makes the tanks SINK into it and not get out =) (the royal society are sending down scientist to study this mud) and also from towing. but also some from enemy fire. Hotel elements will have to work hard to get them all into shape again.

And im sorry for that IED again, that was not suposed to happen. i guess the guy that buried it tripled the amount of TNT that he was orderd to use.

No shit... :) and Im working on a proposal about the Hotel units to once again have them in a Combat Support Section and a Rear Echelon Section.

CSSRES.jpg

so CSS: (wich will have Coy Callsign, maybe 11th platoon or so to distinguish between fighting units)

1 M88

1 M113REP

1 ASLAV-A

RES: (wich will have Hotel C/S)

1 M88

2 M113REP

1 ASLAV-A

2 MAN (1 Fuel and one Supply)

Reason is that I was humping to much vehicles around and when I needed it I still didnt have resources to do my jobb because they where tied up already.

So the CSS will do the emediate fixing, if its big it hands the vehicle over to the RES for further repairs, and returns to the Coy again for quick recovering etc.

Most of all is that both units will be created as platoons so I can merge them and move them as single platoons instead of sections to make it easier.

And it was a blast to be back, that mud really gaved me work...
