wombat
The original SB had a Gary Owen designed map named "Test of Metal" with many variations. I seem to remember it was updated for SB PROpe but wasn't playable for incompatible terrain reasons(?).Anyone have it? It is not a stock PROpe map. I don't have the original Steel Beasts on my computer anymore. We used to play that map a lot. Haven't seen it in years. It's a good map for 4 players.
Gibsonm
It might be worth sending GaryOwen a PM perhaps?
GaryOwen
"Between the years when the oceans drank Atlantis and the gleaming cities, and the years of the rise of the Sons of Aryas," Dewman ran a tournament. Test of Metal was one of the two tournament scenarios; my favorite of the two. I did not write it, I just played it often. Here it is in one of its (original, I think) forms: Test of Metal.zip

mpow66m
how about fixing up Flash Traffic G.Owen, thats one of my favs by you.
GaryOwen
Flash Traffic was written by G.S. McAmis if I'm not mistaken. And I do believe that it is password protected. Updating it is necessary as there were several river crossings that would need to be converted into bridges.
GaryOwen
Ok, I think it might have worked. I was able to extract the map and place bridges. I don't have the password, so I couldn't adjust the Red pathing, but it seems to work alright with the bridges. This was a G.S. McAmis map. He loved to use copious amounts of ditches, which can get weird in Pro PE ---- just saying. I ain't taking out none of the ditches, that would just be wrong. Anyway, no guarantees. If you want it done right, you'll need a fifth-gallon of Tennessee whisky, a large squirrel, a square foot of blue and green tartan, a PRC-77 with battery; and if you're really lucky, you might get GS to reply to the call sign, R8J69.
