dpabrams
I am new to this but is this only done by altering the actual 3D model? I sure would like to delete that last skirt section and expose the drive sprocket on the M1 as the crews did in the field. Is it an "alpha channel" thing? I thought that my adding the blue and red checkering it would allow for it but it is beyond me. Pete:confused:
Tacbat
It's part of the model.
Members Ssnake
Even if you managed to make it transparent, it would still be there for collision detection and the protective effect, so I guess that it would be somewhat misleading though visually correct. I don't think that that is a good trade-off. Visuals should represent as closely as possible the starte of the simulation world IMO, to give the user a clear indication of the situation.
dpabrams
So there is no way to make that portion of the skin transparent? Thats drive wheel is clogging with mud that is compacted by the skirt and I keep throwing tracks!Pete
Moderators Volcano Posted January 12, 2011 Moderators Share Posted January 12, 2011 Yes, this is the M1A0, before they figured out to take off that skirt on the IPM1 and M1A1 etc. Seriously, we are trying to so progression (or is it digression?) - think CIP panels on M1A2, and that "training wheel" on the sprocket that is not present on the M1A1.

dpabrams
But not in SB Pro. Believe me I tried a sideways slide at 77 kph and kept all the tracks on! Pete
